Lego Monster Fighters - New Sets for 2012

Updated on April 18, 2013

Meet the Monster Fighters and the Monsters

The LEGO Monster Fighters range is new for 2012. Find out the back story and learn about the sets in the range and the Monster Fighter and monster characters. This is a great LEGO range, perfect for Halloween and ideal for fans of classic horror movies.

You'll find lots of classic horror movie monsters represented here including vampires, mummies, zombines and more.

Between my son and my nephew I've had chance to play with several of the LEGO Monster Fighters sets. My nephew loves all the gruesome monsters, while my son loves the Monster Fighter characters - he's fascinated with explorers.

I had mixed feelings when I first saw the Monster Fighters range. On the one hand, as an adult, I love it! All the nods towards horror movie cliches and the retro and steampunk details on the monster fighters really appealed to me. But I didn't think they would appeal to my young kids aged 4 and 6 who are LEGO mad. I was completely wrong! As I type this they are playing zombies and talking about Jack McHammer.

1 September 2012 The LEGO 10228 Haunted House has been released.

My son has this set and it's awesome. He loves wolves and explorers so he's not sure which side to be on when he plays with this set.

He's nearly 6 and managed to build the set himself with just a couple of small mistakes that needed to be corrected.

The cool features of the set are:

- The glow in the dark claws in the Werewolf minifigure

- The catapult in the tree for launching the Werewolf

- The frog on the front of Major Quinton Steele's car

- The wolf design on the red moonstone

LEGO Monster Fighters 2013

Will there be more LEGO Monster Fighters sets for 2013? We don't know yet. The initial range is quite comprehensive, but certainly could be added too. We expect that the range will at least still be available in 2013.

Thanks for Visiting

      Hello to everyone,

to make it all short: I really like the monster fighters sets being sold right now. Is there any possibility to put positive "pressure" on LEGO to make them keep up producing new sets? Is there a collective platform for fans to utter the wish for more?

      All the best
