If you're looking for a dollhouse that has it all, the Loving Family Holiday Dollhouse is what you need! Unlike a lot of dollhouses out there, this one comes with plenty of furniture to fill the house plus an adorable family and a dog. It also comes with Christmas decorations that can be removed and put away during the rest of the year. All of these things combine to make an amazing Christmas gift for a young child!

The House

The Loving Family Holiday House has 3 stories, 6 rooms and a bonus attic space. I really like the overall look of the house. The exterior looks a bit like a townhouse and I truly appreciate the fact that it is not pink - it is colored more like a real house. The inside is pretty basic with 2 rooms per story but the stickers that you attach to the walls help bring the rooms to life. The house is incredibly durable. It's exciting to think that it will still be in superb shape in 25 years or so when I have grand kids coming over to visit.

The Furniture

As I mentioned before, this dollhouse comes with all the furniture you need to fill the house. The living room set includes a couch and a beautiful fireplace which lights up and plays music. The kitchen set has a stove, fridge, island with sink and a 5 piece dining set plus a booster seat for baby. The parents get a big bed, the nursery has a crib, changing table and rocking chair and big sister gets a canopy bed and a vanity. Last, but not least, there is a toilet, sink and bathtub for all of your dolls' potty needs. Along with the furniture, you also get blankets, pillows, rugs and a bath towel. Don't forget the Christmas tree, wreath and other accessories to decorate the house! The Christmas decorations can easily be taken down and boxed away in the off season - the house even comes with a Christmas storage box.

The Family

The dolls that come with this dollhouse are super cute. You get Dad, Mom, Sister, Baby and a white puppy named Jingles. They all have brown hair, except for baby who is bald. Mom and Sister have "real" hair which can be combed but Dad's is hard plastic.

It appears that the Holiday house is only available with a Caucasian family but according to some of the reviews on Amazon, you can call Fisher Price and have an African American family sent to you. It's a bit of a bummer that they don't make it easier to find a more diverse family but I guess they can't package things to meet everyone's needs perfectly.

Cast your vote for Holiday House

We bought the Loving Family Home For The Holidays House for my daughter for Christmas in 2012 (when she was 3). I opened the house on Christmas Eve, applied the stickers and set up all of the furniture. Then I wrapped it as well as I could since it wasn't in the box anymore. It was worth the effort though because it looked so much more impressive when my daughter opened it. (see more pictures below)

The Loving Family Holiday Dollhouse has inspired hours of imaginative play for both of my kids. My daughter loves to play out different scenarios with the dolls from the average family dinner to more wild stories about aliens and earthquakes. When we moved into our new house the spring, the dollhouse was one of the first things we set up in my daughter's new room. It made her feel better about the move to know that her dolls were happy in the new house.

We've had the dollhouse for almost 2 years now and it's still played with daily which is not something I can say about most toys. My daughter has recently told me that she needs a Grandma and Grandpa doll for her family and that they'd also like a car. Maybe Santa will bring those this year!

Thank for your reading my review of the Fisher Price Holiday Dollhouse. I hope this has helped you to make a decision in your purchase. While there are many other doll houses on the market, there are no other houses that offer the quality and accessories that this one does.

We got a dollhouse for our oldest granddaughter some years ago and it's currently wrapped up, ready for the next lot to play with it (they are a little young at present).

@Merrci: Oh yes, my son has fun with it too! He's only 18 months so mostly he just likes pushing the furniture through the windows (and making his sister mad) but I'm guessing he'll enjoy playing house with it as he gets older. :)

Fantastic gift for a little girl. Funny how we don't really outgrow these things. I still love them.

@esmonaco: Too true! It's scary how fast the first 4 years have gone!
