Stage a Crime Scene Bathoom with DIY Bloody Bath Accessories

For Halloween decorate your bathroom or haunted house like the Psycho scene bathroom or a Dexter crime scene with bloody towels, bloody bath mats and shower curtains that you make yourself.

I found a popular Mother's Day craft idea and Grandparents gift and re-purposed the technique into a grisly and gory Halloween craft that is simple to make.

If you don't want to make your own blood covered bathroom accessories there are links to premade ones too.

When you see how easy it is, you'll want to make your own Psycho or Dexter-inspired bathroom decorations.

DIY Bloody Bathroom Decorations

Making your own bloody Halloween bathroom decorations is pretty easy.

All you need is something to decorate (a towel, bathmat or shower curtain), some red paint or a red stamp pad and a hand and foot.

With the paint, decide if you want it acrylic or washable. Washable paint will be easier to clean up. Acrylic paint will give you a more permanent result.

The other 'ingredients' make it easier to do the decorating and clean up.

Be forewarned that the red paint and red stamp ink may stain other items permanently, so take care where the paint and ink end up.

  8. Clean up with paper towels.
  9. Allow time for towel or bathmat to dry. The shower curtain may take longer unless you use a fabric one.
  10. Optional Cleaner Version: For those who do not want to get red paint on their hands or feet put on plastic gloves or wrap feet in plastic wrap before dipping into the red paint.
  11. Optional Stamp and Stamp Pad: For those who don't want to get their hands or feet dirty, use the hand print and footprint stamps. Since these are baby sizes, they will be smaller than if you had used real children or adult hands and feet for the imprints.

Red Paint, Stamp Ink or Fake Blood

You can use red paint, a red stamp pad or even fake blood for your blood source.

Be forewarned that the paint, stamp ink and fake blood may stain other items permanently. Be careful where the paint and ink end up.

Remember a little bit of red blood goes a long way.

Another option is the Bloody Shower gel, that you can put in the shower for people to use when they wash.

Decorate with Bloody Towels, Bath Mats, Shower Curtains

For those who don't have the time or the inclination to create your own bloody bathroom accessories, there are premade options.

Hang up bloody curtains and some bloody shower gel to recreate the psycho shower scene. Place a bathmat with bloody footprints next to the tub and hand or place out bloody towels.

To add even more blood, add in a bloody glass or put blood clings on the bathroom window. Blood clings work well for bathrooms with shower doors instead of curtains.

Sometime though, less is more, so to create a more effective grisly and gory effect try using just one or two of the bloody bathroom accessory.

Decorate Some Bloody Glasses

Add some bloody glasses to your Halloween bathroom décor by following these directions to make bloody drinking glasses.
