Give the gift of Money Pizza

Updated on September 13, 2011

A fun & unique way to give the gift of CASH!

I think at some time...we have all had the dilemma of not being able to think of a unique gift for someone. My teen college-student was getting to be the worst for me to get presents for. He only wanted cash, of course. .

Well I was tired of just stuffing cash in a card for his birthday or Christmas gifts! That's positively NO fun! So I started coming up with creative (and often GOOFY) ways of giving him his sorely needed CASH presents. It's really more fun (OK, for ME it's more fun) to make the kid THINK I actually got him a pizza several days ago (what kid doesn't like pizza, right!??)...wrapped it up...and am giving him a big OLD pizza for his gift! Ohhhh...the look on his face. Priceless.

All you need for this fun gift is an empty large (or whatever size you'd like) pizza box. Ask for an extra at Pizza Hut (or Papa Johns...whichever you prefer!) next time you go. Also get the cardboard pizza round that they use for supporting the pizza. IF your local pizza joint doesn't have the rounds...cut a cardboard circle out yourself. Pizza sized.

I went to Michael's Arts & Crafts and bought "Glue Dots". They are little gummy sticky balls that will hold the bills AND change down without ripping bills on removal.

Get shrink wrap too.

Apply the glue dots to the backs of the bills..and place the bills over the cardboard until it's completely covered. Place quarters or pennies or nickels (or some of each ..if it's a "works" pizza!) on the top, securing each with a glue dot.

Cover the entire money pizza with shrinkwrap...leaving plenty of excess shrink wrap on the sides..

Flip the entire pizza over...and use a blow dryer to shrink the wrap around the outer edge of the pizza cardboard.

Place the finished money pizza in the pizza box....and it's ready to go!

EASY as.......pie?!

I couldn't find glue dots, got Scotch glue dots. Does it matter how long they are intact? I have to make mine and send to another state for Christmas. 2 weeks too long for them to be adhered?
