Celebrating Mother's Day during your Pregnancy?

Mother's day is dedicated to mothers everywhere. Step-mothers, godmothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, and any other important woman in your life should be celebrated on this day. However, there is one type of mom that often gets overlooked on Mother's day and that is the expectant mother.

While pregnant moms may not have a baby in their arms yet, they are certainly already experiencing motherhood, which means they should also be gifted with Mother's day presents on this special day.

Buy a Gift with a Special Meaning

On my first Mother’s day, I was 8 ½ months pregnant with my one and only child. It had been a complicated pregnancy and I was looking forward to not being pregnant anymore and enjoying my new infant.

While I didn’t expect anything for Mother’s day that year, I was ecstatic to receive a beautiful Willow Tree New Life figurine. I have included the New Life Willow Tree figurine that I received in the list below and have added several other great Willow Tree figurines for moms too.

This is the Willow Tree figurine that my husband bought for my first Mother's day when I was 8 1/2 months pregnant with our daughter. I still love it 10 years later.

Purchase Something Special for the Expectant Mother in your Life

Chances are the expectant mother in your life has already created a baby registry, so if you are looking for an easy gift idea, take a peek at their registry. You can either shop from the registry or get creative and go off list.

Check out the baby registry gift ideas that I have come up with below. However, it’s important to note that some pregnant moms may think that getting a baby gift for Mother’s day is the equivalent of getting a vacuum for her birthday, and other moms will love a baby gift on this special day. It’s really up to you to know whether the pregnant mom in your life would like a baby gift or not.

Gift a Pregnant Mother with a Photo Shoot

When I was pregnant, I would have never thought of having a pregnancy photo shoot. However, since my daughter was born, I have had several friends that have done a pregnancy photo shoot and the photos are simply breathtaking.

If you gift the pregnant mother in your life with a photo shoot, make sure to get a mother/baby-inspired photo frame that will help the mom remember her photo shoot for the rest of her life.

When all Else Fails Buy Jewelry

As most men know, when you are at a loss over what to buy the special lady in your life, jewelry always works. When choosing jewelry for a pregnant mom on Mom’s day, make sure you pick something that reflect s the stage of her life that she is getting ready to embark on.

Whether having her first child or becoming the mother of two, you can find a great jewelry idea that will surely impress her on Mother’s Day.

Create a Gift from your Heart

Like all moms, sometimes all a pregnant mom needs is to know she is appreciated. If this sounds like the mommy-to-be in your life, consider giving her a gift from your heart.

Some great ideas include making her breakfast in bed, taking her to her favorite restaurant for dinner, or even painting her toenails for her. No matter what you choose to do, the expectant mom in your life will surely be appreciative.

These are very cute gift ideas for expectant moms. When I was expecting my first, my mother-in-law bought me a little gift and it really meant a lot to me.

@CherylsArt: Thanks, CreativeArtist. My first mother's day was when I was 8 months pregnant with my daughter. I didn't expect anything from my husband, but the fact that he gave me my first mother's day gift before she was even her is something I will always remember.
