Updated on September 23, 2014

It's The Muppets!

It's a Muppet Show this Halloween! From their own vaudeville show to the sliver screen, Jim Henson's beloved gang brings happiness to everyone! Dress up as your favorites - Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Gonzo - in these official Muppet Costumes! Join the gang and make a rainbow connection this Halloween!

Meet the Muppet Gang!

Born in 1955, the Muppets are a group of puppet characters created by Jim Henson. Although Kermit was one of the originals, it was during The Muppet Show that the cast of characters grew, taking on lives of their own. Today just about everybody knows Kermit and his gang of friends - Miss Piggy, Gonzo the Great, Fozzy the Bear, Animal, Statler and Waldorf, the Swedish Chef, Dr Benson Honeydew and Beaker, and Rizzo the Rat, among others - who have gone on to star in seven feature films as well as many television specials and series.

An eighth feature film, Muppets Most Wanted, was released in 2014.

"Hi-ho, Kermit the Frog here!"

The most famous, or most recognizable if you will, Muppet in the world is Kermit the Frog. He first appeared in 1955 on the television show Sam and Friends, but he wasn't a true frog until 1971, when he played the lead in The Frog Prince.

He mostly worked as reporter, doing New Flashes on the children's show Sesame Street, as well as musical numbers. His most memorable would be Bein' Green.

Kermit became a star in 1976 when he became the host of The Muppet Show! In addition to hosting duties, he also acted and sang, and chatted with guest stars.

He would also find himself the protagonist in the first three Muppet films: The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, and The Muppets Take Manhattan.

After a brief hiatus, filed with small direct-to-DVD releases and made-for-television movies, Kermit returned to the silver screen in 2011's The Muppets!

Most Memorable Muppet Clips

"It is Moi!"

Miss Piggy got her start singing on The Muppet Show, where she continually tried to romantically pursue Kermit the Frog. Her most memorable sketches were Pigs In Space and Veterinarian's Hospital, in addition to musical numbers.

In addition to singing, Piggy is fluent in French and trained in karate, as well as being a dive. Her style is always the latest, keeping up with fashion trends over the years.

"The Little Blue Weirdo!"

Gonzo's first stunt ever performed was his birth. The little blue creature with the over-sized nose has been called a "weirdo" or a "whatever" since his first appearance with the Muppet gang. The feature film, Muppets from Space proclaimed Gonzo was from an alien race.

Whatever he is, Gonzo started out (badly) performing stunts on The Muppet Show, grand feats of daring do under the name of The Great Gonzo or Gonzo the Great. He appeared in all seven feature films, and was the co-host of A Muppet Christmas Carol along with Rizzo the Rat.

Gonzo has a chicken girlfriend named Camilla.
