Dress Up as your Favorite Olympic Athlete

If you love the Olympics, they don't have to be on now for you to enjoy any costume or Halloween party to pay tribute to your favorite country or Olympic athlete. I followed the Olympics every day and was more amazed with each event at how strong, healthy, fit and passionate all the athletes are that were there. I also was so nervous for them that I ended up snacking too much! I love watching the Olympics and thought a few ideas for Olympic Costumes might be fun to help us all remember and honor extreme sports.

The statistics are in from the Team USA website (link provided at end of article) " The London 2012 Olympic Games marked a record-breaking campaign for the United States, which collected more gold medals than ever before on foreign soil". I've seen many Olympic games and was thinking that this round was pretty remarkable for not only gold medals but, silver and bronze for USA too. I don't know how many athletes came in fourth but, I'll bet even that number is huge. Maybe you're a fan of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia 2014 and want to dress up in one of the costumes to commemorate the experience.

No doubt, we'll see lots of Olympian hopefuls for this year's Halloween or costume parties and many to come. Being an Olympic athlete is the hard part - It doesn't take much to make the perfect Olympic Costume however; and we'll show you how easy it can be to put your costume together with a few accessories.

Find a simple costume here and Team USA gifts that shows off your love of the sport!

Michael Phelps Swim Cap - 5 Star Rating!

Create your own Swimming Olympic Costume

It could be cold outside to portray a swimmer at Halloween depending on where you live. For me, this would be too cold but, could be a good idea for you.

Super simple Olympic costume - add your speedos or other favorite swimsuit, a pair of swimming goggles, a towel, any one of your 22 medals and you're all set to portray Michael Phelps!

USA Flag

The flag is a great way that anyone can show their support of their country and a fun way to wear it is on these simple items.

Be the Torch Carrier at Halloween!

This light up torch is great for kids to help them see their way in the dark, spooky night for trick or treating.

This would also be great for a last minute costume idea:

Pick out any of your favorite sweat pants, add a USA t shirt and then carry this light up torch.

Great for that office party if you still need to work too since it's not a bulky costume.

Your chance for an Olympic Medal! - The perfect compliment to your Olympic Costume

I like this costume accessory a lot - add it over any simple USA t-shirt, jacket or hat and you won't need much more! These medals also make a great momento of your favorite olympic games and great gift idea for the sports enthusiast!

Team USA Clothing for an Olympic Costume - If you like the USA logo, these are really nice clothing pieces for a costume that you'll wear over and over again!

Olympic Party Ideas

I love themed Halloween parties. Why not consider the Olympics for your next party.

Invite all your guests and let them know it's all about the Olympics.

Ask each guest to dress up as their favorite athlete or

Give each guest a name of someone you'd like to see there (they have to get the appropriate costume)

Decorate your home in easy to find red, white or blue decorations (for USA or the colors of your favorite country)

Serve lots of red, white and blue food such as fruit, cakes, jello, candies.

Rocky Balboa American Flag Boxing Robe - Just add a pair of sweatpants and your favorite tennis shoes for the perfect costume.

All American red, white and blue in this fun and silky robe makes getting into costume super simple and fast!

This fun robe can be worn after your costume party too so you get more bang for your buck!

USA International Soccer Jacket - My nephews will want this sharp jacket for sure this year

Many Olympic Costume pieces can be worn all year to show your love and appreciation of the athletes!

Accessories make a big difference

I really like using accessories to completely change any outfit and an Olympic costume is no different. Look at how easily you could play the part with a few of my favorite pieces that let everyone know your costume. I love simple accessories to wear or decorate a room that don't cost a lot such as ribbons, bands and symbols of American spirit!

Celebrate the Olympics from Greece - Where it all began.... Be the Goddess you Are!

I've worn this Greek Goddess costume for a party at our restaurant and it's sexy and fun! Plus, it's easy to get into costume without much fuss at all and only a few accessories are needed.
