Decorate Your Yard for the 4th of July, Flag Day or Other Occasions

Decorate Your Yard for Memorial Day with these patriotic outdoor holiday decorations.

With outdoor holiday decorations you can share your love of America with all who see your home. Make your yard the showplace for the neighborhood this 4th of July.

You'll get multiple uses from these red, white and blue yard decorations. They'll look great for the 4th of July, Flag Day, Veteran's Day and Memorial Day. You can even put them up for 9-11 as well.

I put my decorations up well before each holiday and keep them up for a week or so afterwards. That way I get more mileage out of my efforts.

Celebrations Rope Lights 18', Red, White and Blue

When I decorate for the 4th of July, all the red, white and blue reminds me of the sacrifices my ancestors made for our country. Besides the Revolutionary War, my forefathers served in the Civil War and in World War I. I've done quite a bit of research on my great-great grandfather and his time in the Indiana Volunteer Infantry during the War Between the States.

I need to research the earlier service in the 1700s and the War of 1812 too.

Put these on your porch railing, up along your eaves, around your doorway... whatever looks good to you. My husband loves the way he can outline an area on the patio with rope lights and even weave them into a trellis we have.

Celebrating the 4th of July

I put out my bunting and flags for Memorial Day, Flag Day, the 4th of July and for Veteran's Day.

The 4th of July is the one we celebrate the most. Usually it is with a BBQ with my husband's cousins and then we watch the fireworks from their backyard.

I make sure to decorate our yard and the back patio too with all the red, white and blue decorations that I have.

Polymer Products 110-V String Light

We have this set of lights and they look great with the red, white and blue. We like them so much, we got some green globes to use for St Patrick's Day and to mix with the red for Christmas.

My neighbor had these all across her front porch railing. It looked terrific, so I got some too. I get my decorating ideas from taking a walk around the neighborhood and seeing what catches my eye.

This stretches 8 feet, so makes a big impact when displayed on the front of a house, across a porch railing, etc.

Don't These Look Great on This Porch!

Usually I see them on railings, but this is a great way to use the red, white and blue.

Talk to your parks and recreation department about decorating for occasions like Veteran's Day or the 4th of July. If they say they don't have the manpower, maybe organize a volunteer group to put them up each year.

Patriotic Garden Flags - for the 4th of July or Veteran's Day

I like to swap these out so the neighbors don't get bored. They really are inexpensive and last for years.

They come in several sizes to place on a flag holder in your garden. It adds a splash of color to your yard and shows you are proud to be an American.
