Pam Grier Halloween Costume
Black Divas; Pam Grier aka Foxy Brown Goes to Town on Halloween
If you aspire to be a fierce fashion-forward 70's badass babe this Halloween, look no further than Actress Pam Grier. This beautiful black 70's icon is famous for her tough girl role in Blaxploitation movies "Foxy Brown" & "Coffy." Otherwise known as "the baddest One-Chick Hit-Squad that ever hit town," And you can be her for Halloween... I'll get you started.
Let's not get confused with the "new" Foxy Brown rap star who is trying to steal her thunder... We are talking the original, "the Godmother," the classic sexy cool, curvaceous catsuit, loaded weapon bent on revenge Foxy Brown. She is a "SHE," larger than life because she is a not-to-be messed with tough gal... the kind that is damn fun to impersonate... for an evening.
I've noticed that finding Halloween options for black gals can be a challenge. Although my toddler is not ready to meet Pam yet, someday I hope she'll see Pam as another fun way to embrace her natural "Fro"! So all you gals who are of age... get out your catsuits and let's get to being "the meanest chick in town."

The "Baddest one-Chick Hit-Squad that ever Hit Town!"
Pam Grier's fame spans several roles across some of the most infamous Blaxpoitation movies of the 1970s. Rotten Tomatoes has ranked her as the second Greatest Female Action Heroine in film history.
According to Wikipedia, Grier is known for playing bold, assertive confident (and sexy) women, Starting with box- office hit "Coffy" (1973), in which she plays a nurse who seeks revenge on drug dealers. Grier was noted as the first African-American female to headline an action film, as protagonists of previous blaxploitation films were males."
Even Roger Ebert noted that Grier was an actress of "beautiful face and astonishing form" and that she possessed a kind of "physical life" missing from other actresses. Grier played similar characters in the AIP films Foxy Brown (1974), Friday Foster, and Sheba, Baby (both 1975).
Quentin Tarantino brought her back to the limelight in his 1997 film Jackie Brown, for which she was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role.
She was romantically involved with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and had a tumultuous relationship with actor/comedian Richard Pryor in the mid 1970s which she wrote about in her 2010 memoir, "Foxy: My Life in Three Acts" . She's never been married.
