Does your Mother Love Peonies? Five Great Peony Gift Ideas.

Updated on September 14, 2014

Give a Gift with a Peony Theme

If your mother loves peonies, then a gift with a peony theme would be a thoughtful gift for her.

Peonies always remind me of the house where I grew up. My Mom had peonies growing all along the fence at the side of the house and I can remember helping her to pull the weeds between them. Mom loved her peonies and always looked forward to the time when they would be in full bloom.

If your mom, like mine, no longer has a yard to grow peonies, then there are other alternatives to bring peonies to her. On this page I will explore five ideas for gifts with a peony theme.

Make your Mom's Day with a gift of Peonies

Peony Gift Ideas - gifts for Mothers Day or Any Day

If your mother loves peonies like mine does, here are five gift ideas. They are great for Mothers Day or any other day you want to surprise her with a special treat.

  1. Buy your Mother a gift with a peony theme. The beautiful pillow shown below is a great example.
  2. If peonies are in bloom where you live, take your Mom to a garden to see some of these beautiful flowers. No public gardens close to you, how about a drive or walk around a neighborhood where they're blooming!
  3. Is you Mother a gardener? How about a book that gives her ideas on growing peonies.
  4. A silk flower arrangement with peonies is a great gift that will last all year long. This is a particularly great idea if your Mother is home-bound and would enjoy a touch of springtime in her room.
  5. Buy your Mother a photo book filled with peonies. You can both take some time and look at the book together. Perhaps you might even want to show her this lpage and enjoy the photos that I took at Missouri Botanical Garden.

BTW, there's a problem with the photo(s) where you say, "Here are the photos I took on a visit to Missouri Botanical Garden..."

I had two beautiful tree peonies last year. Then we had the front walkway redone and those plants had to be moved and then later returned to their home. I'm not sure if they'll survive. I love peonies, particularly those tree peonies, which scented my front entry in June!

Peonies remind me more of my grandmother who actually raised them, then they do of my mother, but I love them!

Oh, I do love peonies! We had to have some roof work done a few years back and the roofers stepped all over my peony and break all of it fragile little limbs. It is finally showing signs of coming back, so I am hopeful this year. I love that pillow!

I had deep red peonies in my last garden. Now I live in an apartment and don't have any say on what goes in the garden, but I still have the good memories.
