The Ability to Go Back

Pictures as a gift are priceless and give you the ability to go back in time. To forget all else for that moment and reminisce. To savor that feeling of emotion whether it be love, sadness, glory, or just an incredible experience. It is now one that can be remembered an eternity, and for generations to come.

Let me give you a few examples. See that first picture, it’s of my dad and his buddies in the air force with their pet raccoon. It sits next to my bed so I can remember him everyday, and how he used to talk about his buddies and that silly raccoon. It brings a happiness inside of me like nothing else on the face of this earth. Then look at the second picture of my mom, on my grandma and grandpas front porch. We used to go there every year for vacation and my papa use to take me out on the shrimp boat when I got older, or we would sit on the swing on the porch and he would tell me stories all about shrimpin (sorry for the spelling but that‘s what we called it). He built his own boat from scratch at 87 yrs old. Today I tell everybody he was the Bubba Gump of shrimpers, and I have the recipes to prove it. He and my dad are my heroes, and even though I wasn’t even thought about in either of those pictures, in my mind I can be there like it was yesterday. Those pictures are priceless to me and it doesn’t make a bit of difference that I only paid $2.00 for the picture frames.

Whether They are a Gift or Handed Down From Another Generation

Whether they be a gift or an old photo handed down for generations from before your time, you’ve heard so many stories about them it’s as if you were really there. It’s like reading a great book and feeling the ocean at your feet, or being able to step into a time machine and delve into that moment for as long as you want to be there.

You know many have said that men are more visual than women, and with all the statistics I still have to disagree. I think it depends on what there looking at. I mean sure men probably like to watch action movies than women who would really rather see a romantic comedy, but I don’t think that classifies us as less visual. It’s a matter of what we would rather watch or see. And another thing men please, if you think for one moment that we women don’t take that extra few seconds to look at a Mathew McConaughey or Richard Gere look alike as they walk by (or the real thing), you are sadly mistaken. We are just smart enough not to get caught.::)

Giving a Place in Time

Giving someone a picture of a spectacular moment in their life whether it be a graduation, a wedding, maybe a bar mitzvah, or even a special birthday can give a person that elated feeling of inspiration, dignity, exhilaration and accomplishment every time they look at it. Making it as priceless to them as the moment when you took it.

Just something to think about the next time your wondering what to give to that special someone. You can spend a fortune or a few dollars and it doesn’t matter because I guarantee you that picture frame is not what their focused on. It’s that moment in time that means so much to them, and now they know you too have that special place in time.

Have an incredible day

This is so true!!! I have a picture of my mother's family dog Jiggs wearing a pair of her glasses when she was a little girl. Even though we never knew or saw Jiggs...he became a part of our family (in stories) for years...actually generations. I also have a picture of my grandfather in a school classroom when he was a boy in Milwaukee. That and other pictures...

Pictures are great gifts and are priceless for the memories that they have captured in time. Rated up, useful and beautiful.
