This cute little creation is proof that less is often more. Note the fun character with an eye patch, the silver anchor, and the tattered sails. And the waves are awesome. Anyone would be delighted with the whimsical design.

I had a pirate party for my son's birthday once. Everyone enjoyed it. We had a treasure map and hunt, dug for treasure in a chest, and pinned the flag on the pirate ship. Everyone got eye patches, bandanas, and skull rings. I don't remember a special cake, though. They would have loved one of these cakes!

I remember on The Simpsons, the old captain who talks like a pirate. Everyone's getting in rafts, and one is full of patches. He says, "Arr, here be a fine vessel. The yarrest-goin' river boat there be!" He pushes it into the water and it immediately sinks. He sighs and says, "Arr, I don't know what I'm doing."
