Playstation 4 vs. Xbox One

The Best Gaming Gifts Playstation 4 and Xbox One

Picking the best gaming system has a lot of factors involved. Not only do you need to look at price point, you also need to consider the features offered and it isn't always easy when you don't know what they are. Here we can help you find the answers to many questions about the PS4 and the Xbox One.

Choosing a Gaming Console

PS4 or Xbox One

How do you pick a gaming system when selecting a gift for your gamer? What are the most important features that meet your gamers needs? What games are available for each gaming system? What are exclusives for each gaming console?

What gaming system does your gamer's friends use most? These are a few questions to ask yourself this holiday before making a purchase. We are going to help you not only find the best gift for your gamer, but also help you to know what features are available on each gaming system.

Playstation 4 - Priced around $400 (sold out)

Sony Playstation 4, priced right around $400, is the hot new gaming system on the market. Sony has really geared this system toward the gamer by offering approximately 16 games at launch, including Call of Duty:Ghosts. This price point might seem a little more attractive than the more expensive gaming system from Microsoft, the Xbox One. Microsoft and Sony have several cross-platform games but the big difference is that the Xbox gaming system will include a new Kinect and will allow voice and gesture control. If you aren't a gamer and you aren't really familiar with Kinect, it is a motion sensing input device that allows a player to use motion, gestures, and voice commands to interact with the gaming system.

PlayStation 4 is a full $100 less expensive than the Xbox One, with a $399.99 price tag instead of $499.99. However, for this price the PlayStation 4 won't come with a camera, while the Xbox One will include the new Kinect and allow for voice and gesture control and video chat out of the box. Call of Duty:Ghosts will utilize voice commands making it in a league of its own. In the past Activision has avoided putting voice commands into this game. I can assure you that they are confident that it will enhance game play or they would not be adding it.

Playstation 4 Sold Out - Buyers turn to Ebay as a last resort!

Within only a few short hours after Sony released their Playstation 4 on November 15, 2013 at 12:01 AM, The Playstation 4 models were sold out. Buyers everywhere were on a mission to get their hands on this new item to see what all the hype was about. One gaming console even sold for $99,000 on ebay, not including shipping!!! Another sold for $14,600! The stores are wiped out and people are desperate to get their hands on this hot Christmas item. It reminds me of the Tickle Me Elmo phase.

A bidding war

Be sure when you are shopping on Ebay for these items to check for the shipping costs. This is something that you might not notice at first but that can put a huge dent in the cost of your item. Another thing, which in my opinion is the most important thing when shopping on eBay is to look that the Ebay seller rating. If the person has no rating or a low number like a 15, it is probably not wise to buy such a high priced item from them. I have been eBaying for about a year and a half now and I have 100% rating with Power Seller status and my score is about 177. I have sold many more items than this, but these are just the people that took the time to log back on a say how great their product is and how fast they received it. If someone only has a 5 as their score, more than likely they are a new customer and you don't want to risk sending them several hundred dollars and never receiving the item. Just because the price is low doesn't mean it's a good deal. I would rather bid, knowing I'm getting a good product from a reliable source who will ship out my item right away.

Xbox One

Priced at $500 (not yet released)

One of the great features about the Xbox One is that it will encourage multi-feature use, competing with products like Apple TV. The "One" might stand for "one source for all your electronic entertainment. You can use this device to play your blue-ray movies, download a television shows, music, and movies, Skype a call, or even pull up a fitness app. As I mentioned above, the Kinect visual and audio sensor will be included with the console purchase. The PS4 has a more powerful GPU (graphics processing unit), which means sharper looking games that run more smoothly, but to the naked eye, these differences will most likely not be noticeable. Both gaming systems will have multiple games designed for them with superb graphics.
