Printable Advent Calendar

Make Your Own Advent Calendar

Making your own printable advent calendar lets you and your kids design and decorate your own countdown to Christmas calendar your way.

Advent calendars begin on December 1 and count down the days until Christmas. They contain 24 numbers, one for each day until the big holiday.

The advent calendar options include magnetic calendars where a number is added each day, cardboard type box style calendars where a door is opened revealing a picture or a small gift, or advent ornaments.

Three-dimensional calendars are hung like garland with 24 pieces. Each day, one is opened to reveal a message or small gift. Candy is often hidden inside advent calendars as a treat.

This snowflake image would make a great start to an advent calendar. Print off 24 of them, write the numbers 1 through 24 on each snowflake, and then add one each day to poster board or decorate the windows with them for a fun, simple advent calendar.

Print the Numbers

Make this fun magnetic advent calendar that has its own framed metal "board." The easy directions can be found at Makoodle to make it.

Basically, the outside of each lid gets a number from 1 to 24. There are also printable messages to add to the inside of the tins. When the children open a tin each day, they'll find a message (like put together a Christmas puzzle) and a small candy or gift.

So sweet and easy!
