When it comes to party games, you want fun, funny, interactive ideas.
If you're tired of looking for printable party games and finding grandma's retirement home games instead, you've finally hit on the right ideas. Rethinking printable games is what this article is about!
What's New in Party Games
So you've already planned great food, drinks, and music. But if you think that's enough then you're not ready to have your friends and neighbors name your parties "the best". Entertainment -- a live band or a magician -- is great if you have the money to outlay. But most of us don't. Party games are an economical entertainment choice, and they help plan your party.
We're not talking about Risk, Monopoly, or crosswords, here. We don't typically think of board games when think of a great party. "Party games" are different: their purpose is to get everyone to interact. And despite what you might be thinking, many party games don't require a lot of host involvement or orchestration.
A good party game can be played while guests meet and mingle. These games can involve 20, 40, or even more guests. Party games are also often specific to the occasion. You may play a gift exchange game for a holiday party or a bar hop scavenger hunt for a bachelorette party.
Printable party games are rising in popularity as the art of entertaining at home is being revitalized and reinvented! They're economical for entertaining your entire group, and they're instant — you just print and play.
There's a vast difference in the types of adult printable party games available. You can get very involved games, like printable mystery games, where your party theme and your game are one in the same. A party game like this makes party planning extremely simple and entertaining.
Or, you can get "laid back" party games, like conversation starter cards. With a game like this, you simply set them on your coffee table and sit back to enjoy the bubbling and entertaining conversation!
Let's be honest. No one wants to go to a party and be presented with a word find or crossword as a party game, but you'll find these suggested as party games all over the Internet. Unless, you're planning a retirement home party, and even then, I'd think twice about it, these type of games are better for classroom parties!
Printable-Party-Games.com is "rethinking" party games to create games that are the most interactive and engaging group games. Take for instance the game Charades. It's been around for centuries (literally). It's fun on its own, but maybe it's time for an update. Their version of an adult charades game is Shameless Charades.
The byline of this party game is "Got a party in your pocket? You do if you're carrying Shameless Charades in your trousers!" They've created a charades game from euphemisms to add a new saucy twist to a classic party game. That's just one example of how they're updating printable party games to complement the new trends of home party planners.

A Game Bursting With Fun!
One day when trying to come up with something unique, yet inexpensive for my sister's husband's birthday, we thought fortunes would be a great idea. How to deliver them was the question.
Sure, we could go with the old standard fortune cookies; everyone loves those. But, we were looking for something with a little more impact. I suggested, "why not put the fortunes in balloons. If guests want to get their fortune, they'll have to figure out the best way to get it out of there!"
Bingo! It was even a bigger hit than either of us anticipated. We printed out about 100 balloon fortunes, enough for each guest plus several more for good measure. Then we cut them, put them in the balloons, blew the balloons up and used them as decoration through the rooms. Many we just scattered across the floor.
Once guests knew there were fortunes in the balloons, they delighted in bursting them. They, stomped on them (a hilarious sight), sat on them, used ink pens to burst them, you name it. The bursting sounds made for a festive evening and everyone loved it!

The Art of the Party
Past and Present Converge!
Why are more people entertaining at home?
Believe it or not, more people are entertaining at home than ever. Even major events, such as weddings and anniversary parties, are being held more often in back yards and in livingrooms.
Obviously, home parties are more economical than renting a room at a restaurant or taking the party on the road, but it may be more than that. My hunch is that it's a nod to nostalgia.
Just this week I was invited to a dinner party by some newlywed friends who are in their 20's. On their wedding wish list? A housewarming gift of a vinyl record stereo player from the 1940s, which they received!
At their first home party as a newlywed couple, we partied 1940s style. They broke out their new china, Frank Sinatra records played with a delightfully static undercurrent, and guests enjoyed themed cocktails and living room party games after dinner.
This young, hip couple isn't alone! Vinyl records are being sold at concerts (I'm still scratching my head at this one, but it's true). Vintage cocktails are the rage at home and on the town. Fashions and home decorations are reminiscent of several decades including the 40s, 60s, and 80s.
Everyone wants a piece of the past, and it's showing in home entertaining trends.
As we gravitate closer to our homes, wherever they may be, our desire to share them is only natural.
Just a few degrees from that is sharing life's simple pleasures: a vinyl record player, china instead of paper plates, or playing an after dinner party game.
