Redneck Party Food

What do rednecks have in common? They all love to eat and drink, usually at the house of someone else. So make sure you have plenty of food to feed the ensuing hungry mob.

If you are planning a redneck themed party, make sure your food is perfect for all those Good 'ol Buddies. It isn't' that they are fussy eaters, but they like what they like.

Everyone loves barbecued food and that makes it easier on the chef. A few snacks on the tables will keep everyone satisfied until the food is cooked.

Whether you choose to have fried Spam, corn on the cob or watermelon, with a little planning your party food will be sure to leave them impressed.

If you feel you want to give your hungry guests an appetizer, try some of these ideas:

Pork rinds with Cheese Whiz.

Mix up Spam with mayo and put on squares of toast.

Scrambled egg mixed with mayo on tortilla chips

Peanut butter and jam of a Ritz Cracker

Cut up hot dogs and Velveeta and place on toothpicks

Pickles served on a toothpick

A bowl full of hard boiled eggs

Remember, this is not haute cuisine, we are thinking back woods food.

A Few Menu Suggestions

There is no need to divide the food into categories such as "appetizers, main course, and dessert" just put it all in the middle of a table and stand back as your ravenous guests dig in.

Below you will see lots of different ideas which can be served to feed your group of hungry rednecks.

Fried Spam, Catfish, Corn on the Cob, Beans, Hot dogs, Pigs in a blanket, Corn dogs, Fried Chicken, Hamburgers, Hoppin' John, Potato Salad, Pickles, Hard Boiled Eggs, Pickled Pigs Feet, Watermelon, Boxes of Cereal, Popsicles, Mr. Freeze.

Remember: you can make casseroles and call them things such as squirrel surprise, redneck rabbit, pigeon in a pot. You could of course use these as the main meats or just use chicken and call it something unique, no one will know the difference. If you will be barbecuing, consider making

Beer Can Chicken on the BBQ. .

To add an authentic touch, heat Pork and Beans in the can and simply insert a spoon. One small can per guest should suffice. Those that have never eaten them this way will have a laugh and those that have, won't admit it.

Spam A Redneck Food Must Have

A redneck classic

Is there anything you can't make with Spam? This will be one of the basics at your hillbilly get together. Not only will it be used for cooking, place cans on the table for decoration. If you are having a redneck party, a Spam cookbook makes a fun and useful gift if you are giving prizes at your party games.

Cooking a Turkey, Redneck style - Redneck style

If you are having a large gathering of people, try cooking your turkey this way. Perfect for Thanksgiving, Christmas or Easter.

Just like the one you see in the video. Add the propane and clear an area. Don't forget to use robust heat protective gloves to remove the turkey.

Spitting seeds

One thing you need to be aware of, good ol' boys and some girls, love to spit. It could be watermelon seeds, sunflower seeds or chewing tobacco. Make sure you have a spittoon or other receptacle near-by or better yet, have your party outside.

Redneck BBQ

Redneck cooking and barbecuing go hand in hand. It is about men and fire, real caveman stuff.

Whether you opt for an outdoor BBQ or an indoor grill, you are sure to get your redneck friends lining up down the block to feast on your food.

This makes it easy on the designated cooked, everything is on the table, in an ice chest or on the BBQ.

The best way to lay your food out is on a long buffet table. Cover it with a tablecloth and you are ready for your guests.

To add authenticity, use a door which is resting on piles of bricks.

The party is over, what's for breakfast?

Have you ever noticed, some rednecks don't know when to leave? In fact sometimes they don't!

If this is the case, find them a sofa or the floor, give them a blanket or quilt or they will fight the dog for his. In the morning get ready to whip up their favorite breakfast. You guessed it, biscuits and gravy. If may not look appealing but boy is it good.

** Author's note**

I have found myself thinking that perhaps, I may be a redneck as several of these things, I myself love.

I hope this has given you a few ideas.

      @mockingbird999: Hello KM9999999,

Isn't that the truth. The last time I spoke with my daughter she was having that for dinner. The tradition continues.

      Great to hear from you.
