Updated on May 26, 2015

Reining in the Rain!

Rain, rain, go away! When it won't quit raining, what can you do? Open your umbrella!

Since an umbrella can save the day ~ or at least a bad hair day, I think it's time umbrellas were spotlighted and had their day in the sun!

Who doesn't admire someone's pretty or unusual umbrella and even on a dreary day find themselves smiling despite the weather and dreaming of a sunnier place?

I love walking in the rain so long as I have a good umbrella or raincoat/slicker. I have 3 umbrellas: 1 large rainbow colors golf umbrella, a dignified black with wooden handle, and a sky blue umbrella that brightens up any grey day.

@jlshernandez: Oh, Wow! I'm envious you have two! That's fantastic ~ I really do need to just go for it, and order the one I have my eye on! So nice to hear how the umbrellas are used in Asia ~ I can imagine an umbrella should be a common thing in the U.S. for those hot days, too. It would be neat to carry shade with you! Thank you for your visit! B : )

In Asia the umbrella is also used on hot days, more often than in rainy days. Delightful lens on umbrellas. I keep two in my car, one to take to work and a spare, in case I forget to bring it back to the car.

I really liked your photos of raindrops. I need to use an umbrella a lot in certain seasons here in Shanghai - it rains a lot in June, a rainy season. I don't mind it because I know when it stops it will get suddenly hot, and I don't like that at all! But I think I may need to find myself a new umbrella - these are so lovely. Thanks for introducing me to them.
