RumChata for the Holidays

Updated on February 16, 2014

A Unique Holiday Gift

Do you have someone you would like to give a gift of liquor and you are looking for something unique? Well then I have just the gift for you. I have recently discover RumChata and it is a delicious drink either by itself or in a host of food and drink recipes.

RumChata is a unique blend of Caribbean rum, sweet dairy cream and cinnamon. It is a very smooth drink that can be enjoyed by itself or in combination with other ingredients. I think a bottle of RumChata would be an excellent gift for the holidays.

My husband recently brought home a bottle of this delicious liquor and I have been having fun trying it in different recipes. On this page I will share some of the ones that I enjoyed and give you links to additional recipes.

RumChata with Nutmeg - delicious and easy

I love a small glass of RumChata with just a sprinkle of nutmeg added. It is wonderful with my evening popcorn. I was concerned that because it tasted so good it must have too many calories, so I checked it out on their website. I found that a 1.5 fl oz of RumChata has only 140 calories.

That makes it much better than most desserts and as good as it tastes, I just have a RumChata instead of dessert!!

RumChata - rum-cream-cinnamon

We found RumChata at our local supermarket, but you can also order it online.

I love coconut so when I was looking to make a new RumChata recipe, adding coconut vodka popped into my head. These are delicious and very smooth. Serve in a martini glass and garnish with a cinnamon stick. Wouldn't they be great for the holidays served in a red martini glass.

Prep time: 5 min
Ready in: 5 min
Yields: 1

  • 1.5 oz of RumChata
  • .5 oz of Coconut Vodka

  1. Add ingredients to a shaker filled with ice. Shake well to chill and strain into a martini glass. Enjoy!

Holiday Martini Glass - perfect gift with RumChata

Consider giving a bottle of RumChata and one of these delightful "Santa Hat" martini glasses. A perfect pair! You might also add a couple of RumChata martini recipes with the gift.

Christmas Holiday Diva - holiday martini glass

For that "Diva" on your gift list, how about one of these martini glasses along with a bottle of RumChata.

RumChata Website

You will find some great recipes on the RumChata website. Along with the drink recipes there are also some great sounding food and bakery recipes. Two that particularly caught my eye were RumChata French Toast and RumChata Cheesecake

Haven't tried it, but it looks delicious. I love (spiked) eggnog with nutmeg on top, and also Irish Cream and this RumChata looks like it would be a good drink to enjoy instead with similar enjoyment.
