Sorry the Board Game - the Best Gift for Kids
"Sorry!" the board game must be the most inexpensive board game, yet one of the most entertaining games. This popular game from the renowned board gaming company Hasbro, is an old game but it never gets outdated.
Sorry the board game can be played by two to four players, ages 6 or more. It is in fact a game that can be played by the whole family, between siblings, or with friends. The game consists of a set of 12 pawns, 44 cards, and 2 power-up tokens. The pawns move on the board, trying to reach the "Home". The pawns are moved forward or backward on the board, their fate on the board being decided by drawing a card. You can send another player's pawn to the "Start" line, to delay their advancement. Don't be surprised though, if your pawn gets sent to the beginning of the board too. Your opponent will just say "Sorry!" and they'll send you back to the "Start".
What makes this game much more interesting than a dice based board game, is that the cards hold many opportunities, such as move backwards, and sneak into your "Home" destination, or send someone to the beginning, when you draw the "Sorry" card.
Don't think that "Sorry!" is purely a luck game, it involves strategy as well, decision-making, it will develop determination, and will teach children how to lose some in order to win some. In fact, for many of the 6 years old, the frustration to be sent to the "Start", might be a little too much, and you need to have a strategy handy, to give it a positive spin. Usually, players 8 or older, can make their own plan to get revenged, and they get pretty good at it. You, as an adult, can always make "accidental mistakes", and bad strategy decisions, to make the game fun for everyone.
For adults, the game can get a completely different dimension, by dealing five cards at a time, instead of drawing one. This adds more planning and strategy in the game, because the way the cards are played can make up for a bad luck.
This is the brand new version of the popular game. Some like the 2013 version better, but many like the older version.
Uno - The Card Game
Does Uno need any introduction?
I think it doesn't, because is one of the most popular card games in America.
Uno is a fun and captivating game to play for all ages. It make a great gift for children, and even the 5 years old can play it.
The game is equally entertaining for people of all ages, and the adults enjoy Uno as much as the kids, and that's why it is one of the best family games.
Trouble, is another board game made by Hasbro, this time the moving of your pawn gets decided by the dice. It's a great way to entice kids to learn to count, and it is fun to play. It is great for traveling and playing on an airplane, car, or boat, as the pieces cannot move on the board.
