Spencers Retro 70's Creative Gifts

Updated on May 4, 2013

STUFF FROM THE GROOVY 70'S

We know that you love the 70's, otherwise you would not be here! It may be that you just know someone who loves the 70's and are looking for that special gift? Some people like little trinkets while when some of us were younger, we tended to gravitate towards more technological toys and geeky novelties!

Even if you didn't have tape on your glasses or like Star Wars, you probably liked the music or the savvy slang that only John Travolta or the Valley Girls would use! "Like, that's awesome!"

Finding that perfect gift or gag gift can be a real difficult dilemma; this site may be able to help in solving the needs of the Haight Ashbury fan or the music lover of the nostalgic 70's era

We are sure you can find something for that disco Dave or Dame. While here, you can dig on some cool retro slang or sayings, as well as see some groovy graphics.

Right on, Right on.

52 OUNCE LAVA LAMP

Lava lamps have always been my favorite 70's nostalgic item. These never go out of style and these are metallic and are sturdier than some of the plastic ones out there. These hold about 52 ounces and have several color combinations to choose from. Click on the lamp photo to take you to the website so you can see the tech specs on these and other groovy items!

KISS RETRO 4 PACK PINT GLASSES

This is a set of 4 drinking glasses commemorating KISS Destroyer. Each glass is 16 ounces (1 pint) and each glass shows each band member. Gene Simmons would be proud, he may have had these at his wedding! The letters KISS are on each glass. These are for the true KISS fanatic or for any 70's retro fan.

70's Slang

FAR OUT 70's SLANG!

Did you live through the 70's or are just curious about all the Retro slang that was used? Now is your chance to "Get the Skinny" and "Get Down" with some "Jivin'" so you will be "Lookin' Good". "Catch you on the flip side!"

MUSHROOM/PEACE SIGN BLACKLIGHT JR FITTED TEE

This groovy women's fitted t-shirt is of a Peace sign surrounded by growing mushrooms. From the psychedelic era, make your entrance to that cool 70's party and as a bonus, if you have a blacklight, this will light up your night!

"Those times i burned my guitar was like a sacrifice. You sacrifice the things you love. I love my guitar."

Jimi Hendrix

RAINBOW BRITE CLOCK

This cool little clock that is 9 ¾ inches in diameter, commemorates Rainbow Brite! Remember her? She was that cute little girl with boots and her horse with a rainbow tail, Starlite. Join her, Starlite and Twink in their efforts to save the World!

SLEEK 18 INCH BLACKLIGHT

If you have nothing else from the 70's, you need a blacklight! This one is 18 inches and can be put on a shelf or fastened to the wall or ceiling. Don't forget to wear that shirt that glows in blacklight and the poster of KISS!

"Good morning! What we have in mind is breakfast in bed for 400,000."

STAR LASER LIGHT SHOW

You can create your own universe and light show with this cool Star Laser! It projects stars and clouds on your walls, floors and even other people or pets. Everything is groovy and moves around. Click on the photo of the laser to see more information and small demonstration of what this can do. If you love weird images, take a look!

UDO DISCO BALL

This reminds me of the light that my Grandma had in front of her silver Christmas tree but this one revolves and gives you that nightclub feel. Turn up the tunes and groove to the music as you check out the psychedelic lighting!! Very inexpensive and a must for the 70's fan or for that dorm room!

8 INCH MIRROR BALL WITH LEDS

The first time I ever saw one of these in use was at a Pink Floyd laser light show in the 70's. I am no old enough the ballroom but do remember Travolta on the dance floor when they used one in Saturday Night Fever. This one gives a lot of movement and also is light responsive so it will project light to the music.

STROBE 360 BLUE

Along with the blacklight and disco ball, you also need this one! Everyone needs to experience or re-experience a strobe light! I remember these at parties when I was growing up. You can't be without one so you can dance the night away!

FOG MACHINE WITH TIMER

Remember all those cool concerts that had fog rolling on the stage? Well, wouldn't it be a blast to be able to do that at any party or just for fun? This machine will let out a steady amount of fog or will fog up everything all at one time! There is also a timer. What a neat retro item!

"Erotic politicians, that's what we are. We're interested in anything about revolt, disorder, chaos and activity that appears to have no meaning."

Jim Morrison

GIANT PEZ DARTH VADER

Darth Vader is back to his evil ways and was met with relief by Storm Troopers everywhere, struggling to deal with their unemployment, especially during these tough economic times. What Star Wars fans would be without a giant 12 inch Pez of Darth along with the candy! Quiet, I think I hear him breathing!

Steppenwolf

ELVIS GOLD SILHOUETTE BAR STOOL

This gold silhouette Elvis Presley barstool is what every retro bar needs. These are really sturdy! Buy several so you won't have a Blue Christmas!

THE BEATLES YELLOW SUBMARINE FLEECE BLANKET

You have to feel this super thick, ridiculously plush Micro Raschel material to believe it. Micro Raschel is by far the warmest, cozy material that melts in to you as you kick back and relax in pure comfort. This warm and cozy blanket measures 50" x 60" That's nearly 5 feet x 4 feet so you and a loved one can snuggle under it while watching a movie or sitting by a roaring fire.

Everyone loves a fleece blanket and what better way to celebrate your love of the Beatles! You will keep warm while feeling nostalgic! This is one of the most comfortable blankets out there, it is micro-plush and is large, about 4x5 feet in size! This is big enough for more than one person! Be a Mop Top and get this blanket!

"Down through all of eternity the crying of humanity, tis' then when the hurdy gurdy man comes singing songs of love."

Donovan

The 70's is not for everyone but we hope you enjoyed this little trip on the Way Back Machine!

What a fun lens! I did not do well on the Retro quiz at all...terrible 4 out of 10, hahaha. I learned a lot though! I love Retro stuff! I enjoyed seeing all the "glittery" and "sparkly" animated gif. So fabulous! God bless.
