10 Green Tops for St. Pat's
Top o' the tops to ya with these cute green tops for St. Pat's
Not only am I 50% of Irish descent, but green is my favorite color, so sporting this hue is no stretch for me every March 17. I understand, though, that some may worry about looking too Kermit or Green Giant-ish.
There is a way to do it with style, and relatively affordably. A word of advice: If you're going to add one item this year to your St. Patrick's Day outfits toolbox, a cute green top is a smart move. Vibrantly colored tops like these stretch out a wardrobe and can be worn year-round. And from silky sleeveless to soft sweaters, there's a style for every climate, budget & body type. Even a simple pair of jeans takes on St. Pat's style with some green up top.

~~ why do we wear green on March 17? ~~
Well, Ireland isn't called the "Emerald Isle" for nothing. Its lush terrain really does feature dozens of grassy hues. Green is also one of the 3 colors in the Irish flag. It symbolizes spring, too, and of course is the shade of a shamrock.
Lucky does boho chic at a gentler price point than, say, Free People. I love a peasant look but feel swallowed up when it gets too billowy. This one is cut slim enough for flattery while still being comfy -- and forgiving, when the corned beef & soda bread beckon...
Don't think turtlenecks can be sexy? You haven't dealt with American Apparel, then. It's all in the cut -- but warning: this one is cut super small! Throw your normal sizing out the window & go up a couple notches.
Most Ts don't flatter my straightish figure, but a jersey v-neck that drapes just right? Heaven. Better yet, check out the cool back. This is another top I'd try wearing both ways (front in front & back in front), for two different looks.
Count on Michael Kors for a chic, silky, amped-up T in a wonderful patterned fabric. Fun & ageless, and the multiple-greens motif is spot on for March 17. Bonus: petite sizes, too.
Customize your fit with this versatile wrap top.
So pretty! Simple shape in an ubergirly fabric. Reportedly runs small, so consider sizing up.
No need for jewelry with this shimmering, patterned jade number from Kenneth Cole. Even with your most tattered jeans, it'll steal the show.
The "Pam Breeze-ly" is a Modcloth bestseller, restocked after probably more than one sellout (yea!). Great with a scarf & skinnies.
Here a quite-bright shade of emerald is offset by a simple, flatters-all-comers shape with small cutouts for visual appeal.
I'm also a cardi queen -- what better tool for extending spring/summer dresses into the fall? This one's perfect for St. Pat's.
Rather go with a T? Try a subtle one with some shape & style -- and lots of rich green color.
What kind of St Patricks Day outfits do you favor? Just one green piece, or head to toe? Casual, elegant, over-the-top costumey?
