Ashley Webbs Bridal Shower 7/10/2011

The purpose of this hub is to give a step by step guide into hosting a bridal shower.

In order to be a good host you need

  • A Place to hold the bridal shower
  • A guest-list
  • Invitations
  • Refreshments
  • A bridal registry

Lets start out with a place to hold the bridal shower, I would recommend a church or a community center that has plenty of room for the guests, gifts, etc.

Ashley Webb"s bridal shower was held at Poplar Log church in Hamilton,by the ladies of the poplar log church.

But a bridal shower needs to fit the personality of the bride,in other words it needs to be at a place she is comfortable with.

Here are some more options for places to hold a bridal shower.

  • A community building
  • A senior citizens bulding
  • A Park
  • In a hotel conference room
  • Even at a friend of the brides home

What is important is that the place is big enough to hold all the guests comfortably and it must be a place that the bride approves of.

After you get the building & set the date and time of the shower, mail the invitations.

You can get the mailing list from the bride, she will know who she wants to invite to her shower

The invitations need to be

  • mailed a minimum of 3 weeks before the shower
  • Have clear directions to the shower
  • Have a clear date & time of the shower
  • Be in a big enough font that you can read it.

Here is a example of a bridal shower invitation.

You are cordially invited to attend the Bridal shower of ___________

It will be held at Jesus First Church, 123 chestnut dr Hamilton.AL 35570

The shower begins at 6pm on July 4th 2011

Mrs. ____ regisrty is available at Wal-Mart,Target & Solid Gold Jewelers.

We all look forward to seeing you there

For more info contact _______at phone number.

The bridal registry

Many retail stores will be glad to make a bridal registry for your shower, it works like, this the bride goes in the store and picks items that they need, the store keeps the registry and as people buy the gifts they will mark them off the list.

If you live in a small town many local shops would be glad to do a registry for you to get the extra business. Just ask, the worst that can happen is they say no.

Here is a list of retail stores that will do a bridal registry.

  • Wal-Mart
  • K-Mart
  • Target
  • Most Jewelry Store
  • If you aren't sure just ask

Refreshments for a bridal shower

  • Punch
  • Drinks
  • Finger Foods
  • Cup-Cakes
  • Fruits & Vegetables
  • Cheese tray or Vegetable tray

It is always better to have more refreshments than to run out, so make sure that you keep that in mind when you plan your first bridal shower.
