Updated on October 18, 2014

A beary easy craft!

Make a fun gift for Valentine's Day or any day you want to show someone you love. You can easily craft this present using a few things from around the house and some Teddy Grahams.

It's super easy and super cute, and it's great for kids to take to school for their school Valentine exchange. Or just make one to pop into your sweetie's lunch, it's sure to make their day super special.

Gather Craft Items Together

For this Valentine's Day craft, you'll only need a few things:

  • Teddy Grahams - about 1/2 cup
  • Zipper Bag, Sandwich-Sized
  • Piece of Cardstock preferably, though you can use regular paper
  • Markers
  • Scissors
  • Stapler

I used off brand Teddy Grahams, it's what I had on hand.

Cut and Folded Paper

Cut Off a Piece of the Paper

Cut a square out of the cardstock or whatever paper you are using.

Try the piece of paper at least as wide as the top of your sandwich bag, about 6 to 7 inches should be right.

Then fold the paper in half.

Write Chosen Phrase on Half of Paper

There are a couple of really cute and "punny" phrases you can choose from, or just create your own. Make a pun out of the word bear or use beary to replace very.

Here are some suggestions:

  • I like you Beary much!
  • You're Beary cute!
  • You're Beary nice!
  • You're my Beary best friend!
  • Bear Hugs for you!
  • You're the Beary Best!
  • I can't bear it if you won't be my Valentine!

Write your chosen phrase on half of the folded piece of paper. Make sure you write it so that you can read the phrase when the fold is above the writing. Don't write it upside down.

Write on Other Half of Paper

If you wish, you can write on the other half of the paper.

This is a good place to write who the Valentine is from or just Happy Valentine's Day.

Again, make sure you don't write it down upside down. The fold should be above the writing when it's written.

Decorate Craft Tag

Decorate your craft tag with whatever you want.

I thought little hearts for Valentine's Day would be nice.

To the right is a picture of my tag after I'd written on it and then decorated it with some hearts. It's slightly flattened so you can see both sides a bit.

Get a Variety Pack of Teddy Grahams

You can easily just attach the beary tag to an individual packet of teddy grahams as well. It's a little easier and just as cute.

Buy Multi-Packs of Teddy Grahams

If giving this craft to a class, you can just buy enough smaller packages of Teddy Grahams for the class and add a tag to each one.

Teddy Grahams in a Bag

Place Teddy Grahams in Bag

Put some Teddy Grahams in the plastic baggie and seal it shut.

Just put however many graham cookies into the bag as you want, about 20 or so is good.

Or if you're giving this as just a sweet gift for a snack or as a lunch side, put how many cookies you'd normally put into their lunchbox.

Staple Tag to Plastic Bag

Place the tag over top of the plastic baggie. The writing should show on each side with the baggie sandwiched in the middle.

Depending on how many Teddy Grahams you put in the bag, you may want to roll the baggie top down a little so that less empty plastic baggie is showing.

Then staple the tag to the baggie. I like to put the stapler down over the tap and bag, and staple it near the bottom of the paper close to one side, then slide it over and staple it on the other side. This makes it nice and even.
