Thanksgiving Music Videos for Kids

Updated on November 15, 2013

Thanksgiving Music for Kids

Looking for Thanksgiving songs? I have some fun music videos for kids to get them ready for the big feast day. Most have lyrics so kids can sing a long.

These are great for the home or classroom and can be used as background music or to play and dance to. Some of the songs are learning songs so children can learn about the pilgrims and the Mayflower or practice their counting.

I've also thrown in a little trivia for their enjoyment and educational value. How much of this do you know? Ready to have some fun? Let's start celebrating!

Thanksgiving Songs - Five Little Turkeys

This cute song repeats and lyrics are included, so it's easy for children to learn. It also helps kids to learn the numbers 1-5. It's a simple song that children love.

This song is from The Learning Station.

Turkey Time

What's great about this song is that it's simple to learn and kids can dance and move to it. If you happen to be a teacher, this is a fun song for the classroom as kids have to do activities such as jumping and squatting.

They Were the Pilgrims

This song teaches how the Pilgrims originally came over on The Mayflower and how they met the Native Americans and joined together for a big feast. This feast later on became known as Thanksgiving.

This is a fun way for children to learn how to spell Mayflower.

Thanksgiving Trivia

Thanksgiving Pilgrims

Ready for a little trivia? Although turkey is popular for the main course of a Thanksgiving feast these days, it's unknown if turkey was even served during the first Thanksgiving.

The first celebration took place in Plymouth, Massachusetts and lasted for three days. (Can you even imagine all of the great food?) The year was 1621. The feast was with the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag tribe.

Each year in the United States, a huge parade takes place known as the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade takes place. It's televised so people all over the country can watch it. The first parade took place in 1924.

Thanksgiving Music - Little Pilgrim

This song is about the first Thanksgiving and how we should be thankful and glad. The song is to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Sing-a-long with lyrics.

Turkey Gobble Song

This song helps children to learn how to count to 20 by counting turkeys.

Thanksgiving Overture

Here's a fast and funny song that is sung to The William Tell Overture. Although there are lyrics, they may be a bit hard to follow as they do go by pretty quickly.

Thanksgiving Book - The Pilgrims' First Thanksgiving.

If by any chance you're looking for a book to help teach about the first Thanksgiving, this book is highly recommended.

The Pilgrims' First Thanksgiving

This is an excellent book which teaches what the Pilgrims went through to get to the point of the first Thanksgiving. It's easy for kids to understand and the illustrations are quite good.

Thanksgiving Videos - Thanks for Giving

Thanks for Giving in an upbeat, hand clapping song showing what we should be grateful for. It's quite fun and kids should really enjoy it.

This is from Liz and Chica on The Sunny Side.

Albuquerque Turkey

This is a silly song that kids should enjoy. The lyrics are put to the music of Oh My Darling Clementine.

Turkey in the Straw

It's not exactly a Thanksgiving song, but I couldn't resist throwing in this adorable Wiggles song. Kids can easily sing and dance along with it.

Thanksgiving Movies for Kids

This is such a family classic. I remember watching it as a kid. In case you're looking for a fun Thanksgiving movie that is appropriate for the entire family, I give a big thumbs up to this movie.
