The Best Halloween Mask Ideas 2015

Updated on September 16, 2015

How To Make Your Own Halloween Costume!

Without a doubt, one of the best ideas for Halloween costumes is to wear a great mask. As you can tell, by the picture to the left, I own a bunch of different masks - that I've accumulated throughout the years. I, personally, have bought the majority of the masks that I own and some of them were gifted to me.

Basically, if you don't want to go through the hassle of picking out a costume....a mask is a great idea because you don't need to put on a full wardrobe to wear one, all you have to do is slip on a mask and you're the character! You could even build a costume around the mask if you wanted, and I'll show you how!

I put together this page with those ideas in mind. I'll show you a bunch of my different masks and give you some great ideas on how you can build a costume around them. I think you'll really like my ideas - or, even while you're reading this, you might come up with some really great ideas of your own and ultimately decide on the perfect mask & costume combo of your own, for this Halloween.

Also, I really hope you enjoy reading what I've written. I had a blast making it all!

I think you'll love the pictures I took! (I know I do!)

*All the pictures on this page are my own, unless otherwise stated or cited.

*As time goes on, I will be adding more and more to this page, so if you want or if you'd like, you can bookmark & save it, to come back and see what other items are in my bag of awesomeness!

You're looking for Halloween costumes...but did you already decorate for Fall or Halloween?

Halloween & Fall Decorating Ideas 2015

Glasses - Mask & Costume Ideas - Sunglasses, EyeGlasses & Specialty Glasses

AllMyGlasses

Now you're probably saying to yourself, "Glasses as masks?" That's right! They cover your face(somewhat) and you can easily be a character with them. There are a number of different ways you can go, with building a costume around them and there are also a lot of different types of glasses to choose from.

I own a number of different glasses, as you can see by the picture up top.

Let's dive right into some costume ideas for them....

What Do You Think?

Do You Think Glasses Can Be Considered Masks?

Sunglasses Costume Ideas

First up: Sunglasses!

We all own a pair of these(or should, if we care about our eyes and sun damage). Simply put, sunglasses make us look cool & mysterious. These next, immediate ideas are in the category of costume ideas for sunglasses.

Now you just have to figure out what idea you would want to make them go with. Here are some great ones to check out....

Secret Agent, Spy or Matrix Character!

MySecretAgentSpyCostume
MySecretAgentSpyCostume

Like I said before, Sunglasses make us look cool & mysterious. I think I look pretty cool in that picture. I'm dressed as a spy. All you have to do is just put on some sharp looking black clothes and you can easily look like a spy, secret agent or a character straight out of the Matrix! A sharp looking jacket is a must - A Trench Coat or whatever you can find.

Oakley Men's Gascan Rectangular Sunglasses, Matte Black /Grey, 60 mm

Oakley's are expensive, but they're craftsmanship at their finest. A high-end brand name. They have so many, and I do mean SO many! different kinds of styles, frames and lenses.

I've spent so many years of my life not wearing sunglasses when I very well should have been. I'm always wearing sunglasses now when I go outside because my eyes are extremely sensitive. They also say people with blue eyes have more sensitive eyes, or am I just saying that? hmmm

Spy Glasses

MySecretAgentSpyCostume2
MySecretAgentSpyCostume2

Those sunglasses I'm wearing, are actually Spy Sunglasses because they have mirrors on the insides of them(on the sides of the lenses) so that way you can see behind you, while looking forward. They're awesome! I bought them back in 2003. I was trying to find a really excellent/expensive pair and ended up buying those, they were a little cheaper but still pretty cool. I think they ended up costing around $20. They're nice quality!

Being a secret agent is a phenomenal idea for Halloween. Wear a suit, maybe don a British accent? or be an American spy. Maybe buy some special gadgets or even go with a friend and use some Walkie Talkies.

The Spy Glasses I Own....

CloseUpSpySunglassesRearViewMirrors
CloseUpSpySunglassesRearViewMirrors

Here's a closer look at the Spy Sunglasses that I own. You can see the mirrors on the sides and how much space is dedicated to viewing out the front. They're pretty sweet! When I first bought them online, from some random website, they displayed a picture of the glasses looking differently shaped(more of a round shape to the frames/lenses), but instead I received the ones you see in the prior pictures, more square shaped. I still like them though and obviously decided to keep them.

Spy Sunlgasses on Amazon

Spy sunglasses are pretty darn cool! Basically, you can have eyes on the back of your head, because you can see behind you, and in front of you! It's the best of both worlds!

Rear Mirror View Rearview Behind Spy Sunglasses Monitor

For $10 you can't go wrong with these cool spy sunglasses. These glasses are round shaped ones. These are not the ones I wanted back then, but these ones are definitely nice! The pair I talked about earlier, that I own, are more square type ones - as seen in the previous picture I posted.

I really think I look like a character from the Matrix. My own custom character, that is. I kind of look like Neo, but only in the clothes department - not with the haircut etc. If you decide to make your own Matrix costume, don't forget some cool weapons! Hand to hand combat will only get you so far when it comes to taking out an agent, unless you're Neo!

Guns

Don't forget to get some cool guns! I loved playing with toy guns when I was a kid. I didn't get to play with them too many times because my mom didn't like guns. I've always had a solid head on my shoulders to know about the dangers of this world, it's weaponry and it's human machinations.

Here's a sweet toy machine gun that shoots darts and waterballs! Fantastic! The agents don't stand a chance when they're standing on the roof of your car trying to grab you, while you're flying down the suicide highway.

Riddick Costume Idea - Sunglasses Motorcycle Goggles....

MyRiddickCostume
MyRiddickCostume

Another great idea I had in mind, years ago....I bought a pair of dark Sunglasses/Goggles so I could possibly be Riddick from the movies "Pitch Black", "The Chronicles of Riddick" & "Riddick" Vin Diesel's a cool dude! I really enjoy his movies...I love the Fast & Furious franchise! RIP Paul Walker

Bobster Bugeye Sunglasses, Black Frame/Smoked Lens
Bobster Bugeye Sunglasses, Black Frame/Smoked Lens

These are the exact goggles that I'm wearing the in the picture above. $10 won't break the bank. My pair have really dark lenses, but the picture for these look lighter, maybe I'm wrong on this one, but even then, really dark lenses are not good, they'll mess up your vision over time, I think, I'm not an optometrist. I have heard that sunglasses/goggles aren't good for wearing too long when in snow places causing something called Ice rot or etc. Something about the cones or rods sticking to the pupil or sumfin. Dunno

For his costume, all you need is:

Some Cool Black Cargo Pants,

A Grey Muscle Shirt (Just figure out if you want the light gray, or dark gray, shirt),

and A Pair of Black Military Style Boots and there you are, you're Riddick - the Furian outsider! Riddick is one of the coolest characters ever!

Rothco 8'' Forced Entry Tactical Boot, Black, 9
Rothco 8'' Forced Entry Tactical Boot, Black, 9

No one should be without a good sturdy pair of heavy duty boots. Not just for a Halloween costume, but also some rough terrain... rocks, snow, wet sloppy messes. Keep your feet dry, don't get jungle rot in the 'nam!

EyeGlasses Costume Ideas

MyEyeGlasses
MyEyeGlasses

Back in the late 90's, or the early 2000s, one of my brothers & I were employed in a moving company business and a customer was throwing out a bunch of furniture and one of the items was a big spinning rack case that held countless glasses - a type of display case commonly found in an eyewear store. It was practically empty, except for a few sample eyeglasses that were clear lensed(non-prescription). So I grabbed those up to keep them and that's one of the pairs, that I'm wearing in that picture.

I know a lot of people who wear glases, especially people in my family, and it should definitely be known that I'm not being disrespectful. I don't use those derrogatory terms of four eyes or any other visually impaired references(especially not in malice). I think glasses make people look smart & sophisticated and I like it! Plus with the Lasik surgery boom, even an old friend of mine doesn't wear glasses anymore.

There are a number of different ideas you could go with, for eyeglasses....

Looking Like A Genius!

SmartPersonCostume1
SmartPersonCostume1

In that picture I'm wearing one of the pairs of glasses that I got from that display spindle of eyeglasses. Those glasses looked the most sophisticated & high class. After I put on that costume, I went around talking to people and acting like a college professor or just a rich socialite lol I kept saying Harvard this, Yale that....Stanford, Cambridge, yada yada yada.....

Dressing up like a smart person could be a funny costume idea! All you need is the proper eyewear, a suit & tie, or a sharp & schnazzy looking jacket - like a blazer or sportscoat, etc. I wish I had a toy, or real pipe to play around with, for the role!

"Are you capturing my good side?"

"I plan on hanging this over my fireplace."

"I'll drink some Brandy and stare at myself."

"Picasso...Rembrandt...Renoir!"

"But this painting is ghastly!"

"Remove it at once!"

"Thank goodness for my golden curtains!"

"They are the only thing stopping me from demolishing this room!"

Professor Glasses

The Cambridge - Iris Style Totally Round Reading Glasses, 2.75, Black

Speaking of professor glasses, here are a pair of reading glasses that might work if you want to dress up like a book snob lol

I'm sure if you check Amazon you can find a cool pair of glasses for whatever costume you want to put together from scratch. Let your imagination run wild when it comes to role playing & acting.

Funny Glasses Ideas

Groucho Marx Glasses are always a favorite. I had a pair when I was younger but those eventually were either broken or lost, so I had to buy another pair back in 2003 or so. Having a pair of those glasses in my bag of awesomeness is a must.

Groucho Marx Outfit

As far as building a costume around those, that's a little tricky. If you've ever seen Groucho Marx's movies or videos then you know he just basically wears whatever people wore back in those days - a suit & tie, swimming & athletic gear. I never personally watched his stuff but with his glasses always being a hit, it seems like his legacy lives on through those. So put on your Groucho glasses & grab a real or fake cigar and of course, use his popular voice and do your own funny witty acting schtick!

I've owned my pair of Groucho glasses for around 12 years now and just recently, I broke them. Looks like I'll have to buy another pair. Can't let my costumes and such, suffer the empty void.

Gotta have the funny!

How To Make Your Own Nerd Costume!

MyCustomNerdCostume1
MyCustomNerdCostume1

There I am, dressed as a nerd, going door to door asking people if they want to take surveys. lol

(No, I actually don't do door to door surveys lol I put some special papers on a clipboard etc.)

Speaking of smart people & glasses...Nerds are synonymous with glasses - so there's a great idea! Get a pair of trousers, some suspenders, a shirt with a breast pocket and pop in a pocket protector and a calculator and now, "You are what you geek!(I just came up with that). You can be a "Saved By The Bell" nerd, dweeb, geek etc. I loved that show! I've been re-watching that show lately, I haven't seen it since I was in school! That's some classic television right there!

For my nerd costume, that I put together....I don't have a pair of trousers or suspenders. So I just used a pair of jeans, with the belt end hanging out, as well as a portion of my shirt, sticking out of my pants.

The glasses I'm wearing, weren't the stereotypical black pair with tape holding the middle or the frame together. I used the previous, smart person glasses I showcased just before this costume idea.

I also don't have a pocket protector, so I cut a piece of plain white paper and put it in my chest pocket to give the illusion of one. I then put pens in the shirt pocket - only ones that had handles to hold onto the fabric so that they didn't fall all over the place.

Nerd costumes are pretty easy to put together if you have the main parts. Here is a great package deal, of items, for a nerd costume to put together.

*You would just have to supply your own outfit, or buy one, because that item is a package of 4, for a nerd costume: It comes with a pocket protector, eyeglasses w/tape, a bow tie & teeth.

"Hi pretty lady, we are conducting a survey today...."

"Do you like nerds, dweebs & geeks?"

"Wait, let me get a pen....one that hasn't leaked...awww geesh!"

"Gosh golly gee willickers!"

"Ok...let's see....would you go out with a nerd, dweeb or geek?"

"Yes, No, Maybe, Never or Right Now!?!"

A Great Superman Clark Kent Costume Idea....

MyClarkKentSupermanCostumeIdea1
MyClarkKentSupermanCostumeIdea1

I'm not entirely happy with how this picture & costume came out for me because I don't have a wig, or long enough hair and I don't have a Superman shirt yet(I plan on getting one though!). I did however look the part with the clothing of a young Clark Kent, growing up in Smallville. The barn sheds behind me were also a planned piece of that picture as well - seeing as how young Superman grew up on a farm, with the Kents.

Probably the most recognizable character idea, for making a costume around eyeglasses, is Clark Kent/Superman! All you have to do is where a suit or a button up dress shirt & a Superman T-Shirt underneath it.

Put on your Clark Kent glasses and you're all set. You could even get a wig too!

Goson Vintage Hipster Nerd Black Frame/Clear Lens Wayfarer 57 mm Glasses
Goson Vintage Hipster Nerd Black Frame/Clear Lens Wayfarer 57 mm Glasses

$3 is cheap, but a 4 star rating of over 600 reviews says they are durable and do their job.

Good to know!

The newest Superman movie wasn't too bad, I rather liked it. I mean, Christopher Nolan knows what he's doing with movies. I'm looking forward to Batman vs. Superman!

As for other eyeglasses costume ideas...you could even just try to think of someone who wears glasses and you could be them. One of the funniest things you could do is to dress up like someone you know, a friend or family member, and just act like them and do funny stuff, that's hilarious! They also don't necessarily have to wear glasses.

Also, if you happen to wear glasses, yourself, and the person you're going to dress like doesn't, then you should wear contacts and really play the part of the person you're going to be like.

Another similar idea is to dress up like a popular/famous person. Use your imagination and you can make your own costume for sure.

MyClarkKentSupermanCostumeIdea2
MyClarkKentSupermanCostumeIdea2

I kept the same nerd costume on, that I was wearing prior to these pictures. I did however, change glasses, to put on ones that looked more like Clark Kent's(especially the Christopher Reeve portrayal ones - that's what they look like). I also changed my shirt underneath because I figured, if I didn't have a Superman t-shirt then I at least wanted to have a blue shirt underneath, to get the point across for this costume idea.

A New Superman movie came out this year, "Man of Steel." If you want to see what the new costumes look like, here's a link to another great costume ideas page that I put together: The Best Halloween Costume Ideas 2013

A Full Ninja Costume

MyNinjaCostume
MyNinjaCostume

That's me in the Ninja mask! I love Ninjas! Who doesn't? Being stealthy, agile, mysterious & moving in the shadows. That mask I'm wearing was a part of a full on, expensive costume that I used to own(the outfit originally came with like 3 ninja mask parts, so I figured when I sold it, that I could easily keep one). I had to sell it on eBay because I needed the money. I wish I still had it. Eventually, I'll buy another one and most importantly, one size bigger than the last one because it just barely fit, it needed to be just a little bit bigger.

MyNinjaCostume2
MyNinjaCostume2

Amazon doesn't seem to have any good quality Ninja costumes, or better yet, outfits when it comes to expensive authentic type ones. They do have ninja costumes but not to the quality of the one I bought back in the day. When I first bought my Ninja costume I purchased it on a random website that I came across in my search for a good one. I bought it back in 2003, before Amazon was, really full on, the main website store to shop from.

The exact Ninja outfit I bought was this one: Basic Traditional Ninja Costume Package

I'm pretty certain that it's the exact same one! I'm 99.9% sure!

It comes with the full outfit, as well as Ninja Tabi Boots & Socks. As you can see in the pictures I took, of me with my mask and swords, I have real authentic Ninja swords as well. When I first bought my swords, about 10 years ago, they were $40 or $80 each - they were expensive and I only wanted 1, the website I ordered from ran it twice, but I decided to keep both. I also have a real grappling hook and even some hand and feet, sharp spiked cleats, to be able to climb trees and etc. I still own all of them.

26" Tang Ninja Sword w/ Shoulder Sheath
26" Tang Ninja Sword w/ Shoulder Sheath

I always just carry it around my waist, but it comes with back straps and I lost them in a recent move because I used them in a duct tape shield I made to accompany a knights costumes I made, also out of duct tape. Thanks a lot me!

MyNinjaCostume3
MyNinjaCostume3

I originally bought all of those items(the Ninja outfit & accessories) because I had the grand idea of becoming a vigilante of sorts....to go out at night with all my gear, to find & fight injustice LOL! I know right, that's funny! Needless to say, I didn't end up doing it but I came close. There really wasn't much crime in my area that I lived, but, I was figuring I'd move in the shadows and sneak around peoples yards and basically go by their houses and if I came across any bad guys I'd tell them to stop their madness and stop them if I had to hahaha I just love the whole idea of superheroes and vigilantes, etc. I'm an extremely diligent, responsible person with a great deal of common sense. I'm definitely not a nutter who has flights of fancy, delusions of grandeur, or the like. I think it was a cool dream though! Who knows, it probably would've turned out bad lol

Scary Mask Ideas

They make countless horror themed masks to choose from. Unique & original masks that don't belong to movies, and they also make popular, classic ones that do - I own all of those different kinds. I can still remember going to some really cool Halloween costumes & masks stores when I was a kid and seeing the whole shelf display that wrapped around the whole wall/ceiling of the entire store(that was amazing!), with all the rare masks to choose from(and they were pricey too!).

Scream Ghostface Masks

MyScreamMask
MyScreamMask

In 1996 one of the best slasher movies ever, came out! Scream

Unlike all other slasher/horror movies, this one raised the bar. The killer(s) weren't immortal type characters like Jason Voorhees or Freddy, they were real-life, blood, sweat and tears, humans. It was such a cool movie, and so have the sequels been! It's horror, suspense & mystery at it's finest! You have to guess, the whole time, who the killer or killers are. Wes Craven & the writers were genius! I'll never forget how awesome those movies are.

One of the main aspects of the movie....The incredibly unique Scream, Ghostface Costume & Mask! I wanted that costume so bad and it took awhile before it was available for a lower price - they wanted an arm and a leg for it back in the early 2000s. I went on eBay and bought the one you see me wearing. The only problem with the one I bought, was that it wasn't the exact one I wanted and furthermore, the cloak parts of it, were kid sized! The auction never listed it as a kids costume, dang! At least the mask fit, it was perfect sized, with a wrap around strap.

So, I only own the mask, but someday I'll buy the full costume and rock that awesomeness! *Also, on a side note, I hope they make some more Scream movies!

I don't know why this costume picture is looking purple but it's absolutely not. Check out the reviews on Amazon and the awesome pictures people posted wearing it. It comes with the mask and rob. You'll have to buy the toy knife yourself, also available on the Amazon link page.

A Rare Scream Type Mask

MyRareScreamTypeMask
MyRareScreamTypeMask

This other Scream mask that I'm wearing is a rare one, I don't even remember where it came from. I think I bought it at the store when I was grocery shopping with my mom, when I was in my teens. I don't even think they sell it anywhere - I just googled and Amazon-ed it and couldn't find it. You're best bet is to just go with the popular Scream costume if it's the one you want.

Unique & Rare Horror Masks

Do You Want Some Candy?.....Then Come A Little Closer......Closer.....Ahhhhh!!!!!

I have two other interesting scary type masks, as you can see by the picture up top and up next. The first mask is the most recent one I've received. My mom bought it for me when she was Halloween shopping. It's like a witch mask or something. She bought it because she thought I'd like it or to just get one. I think it's pretty freaky. I even used it in a funny video I made but I don't have immediate access to the video, so I can't show you it. It came out funny. I called her character, the Blair Bayshe! basically, the word "bayshe" is one that my brother & I came up with for a different variation on the swear word that starts with the same letter, "B". And of course, Blair for the Blair Witch, from the popular horror movies.

That first Blair Witch movie was so popular when it came out, in the 90's! It was shot documentary style and for quite some time, after it came out in the theaters, and after everyone saw it, everyone thought it was real, until the actors ended up doing talk shows and talking about the movie. That movie was pretty scary and unsettling to a certain degree. That was the first movie to ever have that realistic, real world feel to it. Now with all the paranormal activity movies and etc. it's all over the place now.

I can still remember the next scary movie like Blair Witch that came out, it was kind of like a tv movie about aliens, holy crap that was really scary. They portrayed aliens as the little green men and they were practically terrorizing a family - all shot in like a first person, family's, handheld camera. It was amazing! I wish I could remember what it was called or where to find it again, to see it.

After I watched it, or maybe during a commercial break, I went downstairs, in my house, to get a drink and I had already told my mom what I was watching, earlier. So she thought it would be funny to do a scary joke and went "Oh My God! An Alien!" and looked towards a different part of the room, pointing. I jumped so far out of my skin. I was so freakin' scared hahaha She got me good!

Peek-A-Boo!

My Scary Birdman Mask

MyBirdmanMask
MyBirdmanMask

That birdman mask(that I call it) is probably one of the oldest, if not the oldest, mask that I own. I've had it since the early to mid 90's. It was funny, I was creepy with that one, one time when I was younger. I was somewhere between the ages of 10-13 and I set up a chair in the front of my house, on the lawn and sat in it, while wearing the mask and just stared at people driving by hahahaha!!!

I thought it was hilarious and strange - I did it for awhile too and would even stand up, before someone drove by(just standing there) and I would even stand up as they drove by and walk in their direction lol Yeah it's definitely strange and creepy, for sure. I think I even did it with other masks as well.

Military Hats, Berets & Costumes

MyMilitaryBeretHat
MyMilitaryBeretHat

As far as hats go, they can be masks too. That Military Beret, that I'm wearing in that picture, is an army National Guard one. My brother's friend gave it to him - her brother or boyfriend was in the Guard and had an extra one. I'm actually not sure of the entire story of her giving him the beret. I think the beret is pretty cool! I came across it one time and he said I could have it. Seeing as how I love the military & the armed forces. I would've loved to have served our country & enlisted, had my circumstances been different.

My Army Hat

MyArmyHat
MyArmyHat

Picking out a military costume, to wear for Halloween, is not only cool because of the look of them(I think uniforms are sharp!), but also because it's a support the troops type gesture too. I still own an army hat, that my friend gave me, but it doesn't fit anymore(as you can easily see by the picture) because it's a kid's one that I got when I was 9 or 10 years old. My best friend gave it to me because he had extra ones and we used to play soldiers - with our toy guns we would traverse the woods and fields that surrounded his huge mansion, up in the hills where he lived.

So if a military or soldiers costume is an idea you want to wear then be sure to get a full on costume and some toy weapons and accessories. It's a great idea and I salute you on it!

Rothco Ranger Map Pocket/Fatigue Cap, ACU, 6.75
Rothco Ranger Map Pocket/Fatigue Cap, ACU, 6.75

I should really get a new Army Hat! I like all branches of our Armed Forces. They all serve a purpose and also serve humanity. Sure, there might be some bad eggs or shenanigans going on behind the scenes but ultimately when it comes down to the bad guys trying to do some delusional scheme of manifest destiny, we'll be there! To put them in their place!

Beret Costume Ideas - Viva La Resistance!

There are a number of different costumes you could make, centered around a beret. Like I said earlier, you could put together a military costume. You could also dress up like a beatnik and buy some bongo drums and recite poetry. Another idea that I really like, and what I think that picture of me looks like, is a freedom fighter, kind of like a French Resistance Fighter during world war 2. On a personal note, I just want to thank every single one of those good guys(guys is a figure of speech, I also mean women too!) for doing their part, to fight, & in doing so, ultimately helped defeat the bad guys! Thank You! Either way, whatever costume you choose, from those options, to go with a beret, you could go with wearing a sleeveless vest, like one I'm wearing in that picture.

Ski Mask Ideas....

*That's a funny picture of me pretending to break into a shed. That blue ski mask that I'm wearing is an old one! I've had that since I was a kid.

Ski masks make me think of burglars - one of the many scurges of society! People who steal what others have earned! Let's face it, someone wearing a ski mask can be pretty scary, even an Orange Ski Mask like the one that the killer wore in the horror/suspense movie Cry Wolf. I'm not going to ruin the movie for you but, if you can handle slasher movies then definitely check it out. They don't go all gory with it, it's more of a scary, slasher, suspense filled, mystery movie. If you like being scared, it'll give you what you want! lol

There are also some other cool ideas you can do for a ski mask, that don't mean scary! You can dress up like a member of SWAT or someone in the Military. Just get a black ski mask and similar colored clothes - cargo pants, a long sleeve black shirt, a really cool tactical vest and more cool items. I love checking out tactical gear!

Let your imagination run wild and come up with some cool ways to work a costume around a ski mask. Maybe even dress as a burglar, maybe a bumbling, funny one!

Tri Hole Ski Mask-Orange W11S14D

Don't cry, wolf, it's all just a bad dream. No one believes you anyway. I was here long before you and I will be here long after you are gone. The world is on fire!

@MariannesWhims: LoL! I had a blast writing those! I'm glad you enjoyed them! I love acting and being funny, with improv type stuff and even writing out some ideas too. Thanks for the compliments and for taking the time to read it all. I absolutely put a lot of work into it and continue to. I had so much fun when I took all the pictures - I spent all day taking them! I still have more to add, as well as writing. Right before I replied to this comment, I added a new picture and some more beret ideas. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! If you're dressing up for Halloween this year, I hope you came up with some great ideas....

@PriyabrataSingh: Thanks! Yeah those are some pretty scary masks, under the right conditions! I like how the pictures came out....I wanted them to be spooky & scary!

Your captions under your photos are hilarious. Can tell you enjoy acting or clowning around. Right? Good lens that must have taken a of work.

@SusanDeppner: I know right! Geniuses come in all shapes & sizes but why not at least go with the stereotypical version lol I like that story about your son dressing up like that. Goofing around like your son did, speaks volumes about his personality, creativity and how open-minded & great his parents are. Thanks for sharing Susan! I'm really glad you enjoyed my lens! I thoroughly enjoyed making it!

Great ideas! Your "genius" disguise (wait, why did you need a disguise for that?) reminded me when one of my sons dressed up in one of his dad's old suits and used some of his hair from a haircut to make a mustache. Can't remember exactly how he did that, but he had a real hair mustache (he was a very young teenager at the time). Anyway, he was very sophisticated looking and actually posed for pictures (which we lost in our house fire - such a shame). He posed like you did in your genius series. Cracked us up for sure! I'm glad you haven't grown out of your talent for having fun with masks and costumes. Love this lens!

@SciTechEditorDave: Thanks! I've also made some costumes out of cardboard and duct tape too, but they accidentally got thrown away - I spent a lot of time on them too, but hey, what can you do. If you wanted, you could always try wearing a costume some year or have a Halloween party to get into the spirit, unless you get a lot of trick or treaters and that's your enjoyment....that works. Thank you so much for the nice compliments and for taking the time to check out my lens! I really appreciate it! Best Wishes!

Nice! I usually create my own costumes from clothing and gear I can scrounge up (scientist lab coat [I was a science major in college], lab apron, scuba diving gear, etc.) or from cardboard and some paint and duct-tape. Haven't put on a costume for quite a while, though (kids are all grown up and out of the house, so my wife and I usually just stay at home with the dog). Congrats on a Squidoo masterpiece!
