The Best Halloween Pet Costumes

Updated on April 7, 2016

Let Your Pet Go In Costume Too

Some pet costumes are easy to think of, like this cat who is going as Puss and Boots from the classic fairy tale and more recently from the wonderful Shrek movies. You can even dress your pet to go with your costume. What if you wanted to go as Fiona or the Donkey from Shrek, this costume would go perfectly with you.

I've found some of the most adorable pet costumes and I'd love to share them with you.

Comic Book Wonder

If you loved super heroes and comic books as a child, you'll love dressing man's best friend in this awesome Batman costume. Your friends will get a kick out of this heroic canine costume.

If you like you could dress as Superman or even go as Batman too.

If you have a cat, you might want to consider dressing him or her as...Cat Woman, I couldn't help myself.

Bones for the Bone lover

I think it is cute and funny and as a kick why not give your dog a bone shaped treat to chew on during your party. The Best thing is this glows in the dark.

This costume is cute and warm, if your animal is used to wearing sweaters when it is cold outside, they will be more likely to be willing to keep on their costumes. My mother's animals never wear sweaters or booties, even though I guess they should, because she worries about them being so small. I know they would let her put costumes on them, but I don't think they would keep them on.

James Bond Anyone

This dog is just so cute in this little tux. I love this costume because this can be anything you want it to be. You could make him a spy, give him at bride or a date dressed in a pretty gown.

More than once I have seen brides and grooms use their favorite canine pals as a ringer barer at their weddings and this outfit would be perfect for it. However please consider how well trained your pooch is, you don't want him doing his business on your runway or heaven forbid chomping on a quest or too.

Vampire Cats! I think I read a book about that, or was that a Vampire Bunny? This feline looks awesome in this little Vampire cape and it is a simple no fuss costume so your little kitty will be much less likely to shake it off. She already has her fangs ready to go.

Pirate

This back when women were women and men were pirates. This Jack Sparrow costume is really cute and if you're having a Pirate Ship themed costume party, this cute little pooch will fit right in. Just remember Jack only only requires The Pearl, Rum and Treasure to be very happy, by which I mean water and bones.

Skunk

Is your animal a little skunk like my mother's dog? Even my mom agreed it fitted her perfectly. Well if she or he is a little bad at times this might be the costume for you, plus it might really creep out your guest and or friends. I saw a mouse in my bathroom and jumped onto the tub, so who knows what will happen at your party. This can also so be a cool trick while you're giving out your treats to the trick or treaters.

Pirate

When Pirate was a small puppy, she could fit in the sweaters meant for very small teddy bears. Pirate will wear clothes, but she hats wearing hats.

Pirate as a Witch

I put on a Halloween pumpkin sweater that mom had for a small teddy bear and a witch hat I had for crafts. She looked adorable.

Taffy

I love my Taffy, but she hates wearing costumes, so I don't put clothes on her.

@MintySea: I think you can just paint them or add stickers.

The skunk is hilarious, as is the cheerleader with pom poms. I usually just put reindeer antlers on my cats :)

What fun, the pet costume market seems to be growing in popularity. Pets are fine being dressed up, my sister used to dress our kittens and bunnies in our doll's clothes, don't know how the dolls felt about that though!
