Fun printed gifts you will love by The Frog Factory

Updated on September 23, 2017

Looking for a unique gift with a cool design? Welcome to my page about The Frog Factory.

Art has always been a passion for me as well as a sense of humor. I decided to combine the two and create my own store (The Frog Factory) where I could share these with the world and create some original gifts that people will love.

Below are just a few of the designs from the creative pond.

One of my first designs

Inspired by chickens running around on the farm and a quote from the old black and white superman movies. Also one of my first products sold on my Zazzle store. This is available on a wide range of products from buttons to t shirts.

It couldn't really be called "The Frog Factory" without at least one frog design so I created this one for frog lovers everywhere (myself included). I think catching frogs as a kid was one of my favorite memories. This design (and a few other frog cartoons) is available on around many different items including bags, cap, shirts and tie.

Frog lovers rejoice!

The story behind this design was inspired by a child's bath toy which I thought looked cute. A bit of Photoshop work to remove the background and add a caption and viola!

Just add microphone.

Inspired by all the divas out there. I created this retro looking design from scratch photographing a real microphone and adding effects to give it a poster - like look. Looks great on a pin or tote bag or mug. (the picture links to a pin).

For those who love fish (or really don't like cats) this design is sure to get a reaction. Available as a mug, mousemat or T shirt and other products too.

How my products are made.

Why did I start creating on Zazzle?

Being creative has always been a part of who I am and I have always loved drawing.
The reason I set up a Zazzle store was the opportunity to create art that would be actually used and shared.

It made sense to put those designs on clothing and other items rather than just stick them on a wall somewhere. Also the opportunity for me was the ability to start my own part time business that could make a little extra money to help pay the bills.

How I came up with the name "The Frog Factory".

I used to catch frogs as a kid and always liked frogs and some of my first designs featured them so that was the inspiration behind the name.

So if you are a frog lover then there is probably going to be something there you will like...

Creating your own designs - What I use. Inspired to draw your own?

I used a drawing tablet connected to my computer to create my designs to begin with, but found using a tablet took a while to get used to.
Later when I was able to afford it, I got hold of an old Wacom DTI 520 interactive display from eBay (they are pretty rare) which allows you to draw directly on the screen - just like drawing on a sheet of glass which is probably as close as you can get to drawing on paper at the moment.

Below is some cool gear and software I recommend.

SketchBook Pro 6 [Old Version]

This is the software I currently use to create my designs. It works well and has a variety of brushes, pens etc. One of the best drawing programs out there.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 [OLD VERSION]

I do use Photoshop (the full version) to do some of my work, but you can get by with the basic version for most things.
