15 USES For CANDY CANES

Candy canes are not only tasty and inexpensive, but there are so many other fun uses for candy canes beside eating them. You can decorate edible treats, use for stir sticks in hot chocolate and coffee, garnish candy cane martinis with them and so much more. So don't throw away your left over holiday candy canes until you've tried these ideas.

#1 Candy Cane Marshmallows

Candy Cane marshmallows:

Ingredients:

1 cup powdered sugar

5 teaspoons water

6 candy canes (ground)

1 bag of jumbo marshmallows

Toothpicks

Cookie sheet lined with wax paper

Directions:

1. Pour powdered sugar in a bowl.

2. Add water 1 teaspoon at a time until you've created a thin glaze.

3. Place candy canes in a blender and blend until finely ground.

4. Place a toothpick in the end of marshmallow.

5. Roll marshmallow in glaze; covering botton and sides.

7. Roll marshmallow in candy canes until glaze is covered.

8. Place in freezer. They are done when the marshmallow pops off easily from the wax paper.

Store leftover in a bag in the freezer.

Great treat to add to your hot chocolate! (Don't forget to remove the toothpick first.)

What a sweet, sweet lens -- I love it!! I think I like candy canes even more now as an adult than I did as a kid. I got hooked on them last Christmas. I love stirring & melting a candy cane in hot chocolate or chocolate-mint coffee! I try to avoid that sugar, but it's hard to at Christmas! I'm lensrolling this lens to my Retro Christmas lens -- I hope you'll visit it some time. ~Vicki~

We used candy canes for a kids' party today. Filled a big bowl with candy canes, gave each kid a candy cane, and had them hold their candy canes in their mouths and "fish" for the candy canes in the bowl.
