Love Poems For Your Favourite Lady

Updated on September 5, 2014

Ideas for Poetry for your Special Lady

I love to write poetry and here you will find some poems I have written especially for you to write to your favourite lady.. I hope you will enjoy them and take them for your private use to serenade your special lady. There are also links to many other poems from down the ages, so there will be something here for everyone. These poems of mine do not mention Valentine's Day so are also suitable for any occasion, such as a birthday or anniversary.

Tell Her How you Feel On Valentine's Day

I truly am most blessed, my dear

To have you as my bride.

No other girl would do for me,

I need you by my side.

Everything about you

Fills me with true pride.

You're many talents amaze me,

I need you by my side.

So down the years together

Our family we will guide,

Knowing that always

We will travel side by side.

The Seasons of Our Love

When Spring had first begun

I met you, my hun.

In love with you,my heart

Struck through

With Cupid's dart.

When Summer came around

My love for you I found

Had grown in measure great

It would not abate.

When Autumn's glory shone forth

I truly knew your worth.

Our family grown and flown

And you a rose full blown.

Now Winter is our time at last,

And though we feel the wind's cold blast,

My love for you is warm and true.

I am so glad, long ago I found you.

A Unique and Special Poem

Will you write a poem for your love this year (2013)?

Lasting Love

The sweetest thing in all my life

Is you my dear.

You make my life run smoothly

That's why I need you near.

You are the apple of my eye,

The cream of all the bunch.

When I chose you my dear

It was with more than a hunch.

For I had seen

How you held your head high

No matter how fate ran.

I prized that strength in you,

I do not tell a lie.

And so together let us live

In perfect harmony

And as the years roll onward,

Inspire the minstrelsy.

Liz Mackay

Strong and Silent

Though I am strong and silent,

I thought on this special day,

I would write a little in your praise.

So what have I to say?

I love you for your quiet charm.

Your caring for my needs.

All those simple thoughtful things

Those kindly little deeds.

You know just what I need each day.

You keep our home so neat

And when I've been away from home

With sweet words my homecoming you greet.

You are indeed the perfect wife,

I love you dearly, dearly.

You are the center of my life.

For once I've said it clearly.

Liz Mackay

My Lovely Bride

I could sing a song

And make it long,

And still not give you your due.

My lovely bride

That I stand beside,

The woman to me so true.

Your worth is far above rubies

As the Good Book tells.

I love you with deep devotion,

As deep as the deepest wells.

Liz Mackay

Deep Love

One day in a crowd I turned around

My eye rested on you

And love I had found.

Your eyes they sparkled back at mine

The flame was kindled, mighty fine.

The year's may pass but still I find

The flame glows on

And has not declined

We've had our moments

When times were rocky.

We've found sometimes

That things aren't hockey.

But we've passed these milestones

When the road grew steep

Only to find that our love is deep.

Liz Mackay

One Sunny Day

One day in a crowd I turned around

My eye rested on you

And love I had found.

Your eyes they sparkled back at mine

The flame was kindled, mighty fine.

The year's may pass but still I find

The flame glows on

And has not declined

We've had our moments

When times were rocky.

We've found sometimes

That things aren't hockey.

But we've passed these milestones

When the road grew steep

Only to find that our love is deep.

The Rolling Years

The years roll round

But I have found

My love for you

Grows stronger.

You are the center of my life

My one true love

My splendid wife.

Oh may my song grow longer

For you deserve the praise I give.

Surely as long as I shall live

I will not love another.

I love you for yourself my love

And also as my children's mother.

Liz Mackay

My Own Sweet Wife

The day we met

Seems far away,

The year's between have rolled,

But I rejoice that day did come,

For you are worth your weight in gold.

Such joy you've brought

Into my life,

My greatest friend,

My own sweet wife.

Liz Mackay

My Treasure

Each day of this year

You have been by my side.

To have such a lovely wife

Fills me with pride.

You are the wind in my sails,

That drives our life forward,

The gentle inspiration of peace

And love out poured.

You are to me

Everything this life can offer,

You are the treasures precious,

In a bountiful coffer.

Words cannot express

No words can express

How I feel about you

But I’ll try my love

My wife so true.

Beauty of spirit

As well as of face

Bedecks your presence

With such grace.

No other woman

Can hold a candle to you.

You are unique my darling

To give you your due.

God bless the poets in this world. Here on HP, you'll live in relative obscurity with your poems, but there are those of us who are very grateful that you write poetry and increase the beauty in this world.

A lot of really great poems here -- decribe how I feel about my dear Venezuelan sweatheart (& wife) Berenice. I will feature this on my Valentine's lens, "The Greatest Love."
