The VTech Kidizoom Video Camera...

Updated on January 24, 2011

The VTech Kidizoom Video Camera is very popular. For one, it was the top kid's gadget in the UK over the Christmas. So it's definitely worth checking out for this year's shopping list. You might not have any say in the matter, anyway, if your little one's already going on and on about it like their life depends on it :-)

The VTech Kidizoom video camera is easy to operate and has a build that's quite sturdy, which means it's more likely to last more than just a couple of days (if you're lucky!), rather than a 'blink-and-you'll-miss-it' shelf life.

The camera has four modes as well as different themes and backgrounds, plus three games (Photoswap, Hide & Seek, and Crazy Kitchen).

If you have a budding little Scorcese, Spielberg or Copolla in the house, then the Kidizoom video camera might be just the ticket.

The recommended age for use is 4 years and over and is available in pink and blue. Would have been great if there were more colours, but that's the way it is for now. Maybe VTech will add more of that in the future.

Screen size: 1.8".

Digital zoom: 4x.

There aren't any batteries included; you need four AA ones. There was one reviewer I read on Amazon that mentioned she received a set of demo batteries with her VTech Kidizoom Video Camera. Maybe she was just lucky and the sales assistant was in an uber great mood. To be on the safe side, I think it might be best to just buy your own from the get-go.
