What Color Is Your Tree?

Updated on September 29, 2012

Different Years, Different Colors

Every Christmas, when it's time to decorate the tree, we end up with a different color scheme. It's always random, and depends on which two colors of lights I pull out first. This was something I started after I got married. Don't know why really. I think it was just a way for me to make Christmas with my husband different than it was before I met him. The ornaments and tinsel always go with the lights too. My husband doesn't really care, but that's okay with me.

Our First Christmas

The first Christmas Rick and I had after we got married, we went out and bought a brand new artificial Christmas tree. This was 10 years ago, so the fad for different colored Christmas lights had just started too. Over the years we've bought orange ones, yellow ones, multi-colored ones, red ones, blue ones, and purple ones. Every year, when I unpack the decorations, the first two strings I choose are the ones we use. Not a very scientific way to go about it, but I wouldn't be able to decide on my own.

We do a multi color tree.

We used to do the natural one,but over the years

      we switched to artificial.

Our fave thing to do was to make popcorn strings, although we usually ended up with a puny string by the time we got to eatin' more then stringin' ;) You made it to Rocket Mom's graduation - congrats!

We definitely go multi-colored. The kids don't like to change traditions like these. Congrats on being a RocketMom.
