What To Do This Christmas Day
I'm bored...and it's Christmas
Have you ever heard those words? Have you ever said those words yourself?
While Christmas is a holiday, a celebration and a time of presents, Christmas cake and family time, it's not always easy to keep everybody happy and maintain that festive spirit. You will find, especially if you have young children, that it can often seem like you're just sat there all day after opening your presents. Many people find themselves wondering what all the hype was about if there's nothing very exciting about Christmas.
Well, the good news is that Christmas can be fun and exciting! You can fill Christmas Day with all the excitement that you want!
Think about what you like doing. Do you have a family? What does the rest of your family like? What's on in your area?
If you still can't think of anything mega-exciting, read on to see some of my brilliant (ahem) ideas.

Do you celebrate Christmas?
Go to a Christmas event
This one is a good option if you like noise, lots of people and feeling really Christmas-sy. For those who enjoy a quiet Christmas Day with a few Frank Sinatra Christmas songs, this probably isn't for you. (There's nothing wrong with Frank Sinatra, read on to find more about ideas that include him...)
If you have a local newspaper or events guide, have a look in there and see what's available on Christmas Day.
You will often find events that are perfect for the family, and sometimes, they don't even cost a thing, which means you won't have to spend any more money on Christmas than you already have.
It might be taking the kids to see Santa Claus, listening to solos and bands perform some popular Christmas songs or doing something complete out of the ordinary!

Invite the family round for Christmas dinner...
...or some friends
Ahh yes, it's the typical idea for a Christmas Day. However, it's not always easy to get your family together at your house for a Christmas dinner.
If it seems that everybody's talking about "going to [so-and-so's] house" (another relative's house) for Christmas dinner, you're probably best jumping on the bandwagon and accepting the invitation as well (if you're invited!). It may prove to be difficult getting everyone to come to your house rather than another member of the family's home, and it could cause bad feeling between you and the other relative.
So, the point is, send your invitations out first! A good time to send invitations for Christmas is beginning-mid October. This is not too early but it's earlier than the majority of people will start thinking about Christmas.

Listen to some Christmas music and relax all day!
Some people want nothing more at Christmas than to relax and enjoy the festive season. If this sounds like something that appeals to you, grab yourself some Christmas CDs in good time for Christmas and sing along to them all day.
Whether you want to have a bit of a dance or simply chat to your spouse and enjoy some quality time together, there's Christmas music to suit everybody.
For some golden oldies, Frank Sinatra is a must have. If you want something that's relaxing yet modern, Michael Buble has it all, and he's just released a Christmas album!
