White Peace Dove Ornaments and Gifts
White Peace Dove Christmas Ornaments
Bring Hope and Peace into Your Home With These Ornaments
I enjoy special ornaments on our tree and enjoy giving them to friends and family. I called them My Christmas Treasures and that is exactly what they are. The White Peace Dove has been known to be a symbol of peace since Biblical times. Noah sent the dove from the ark to find dry land and the dove returned carrying an olive branch signifying that dry land had been found. This was a message of hope for a future. In more recent times we continue to use the dove as a symbol of hope and peace and they make beautiful ornaments and gifts to remind us of just that. Are you looking for some really beautiful, meaningful Ornaments and Gifts? Below you will find some of my favorites and I hope that you find something that you like. My Christmas Ornaments are all special to me and each year I enjoy remembering something about each one of them. I either recall where I purchased it or who gave it to me. Some of them have been handed down from the tree we had as a child. Many were given to me by special friends and I think of them when I am hanging "their" ornament. This is why I love to give them as gifts. If you are someone who gets invited to a lot of Bridal Showers you might want to choose one specific ornament to give to the newlyweds and I think one of the ones below would be a great choice. I try to carefully wrap each one in tissue when I take down our tree and place it in its own little box. On the inside of the top of the box, I try to write the story behind the ornament. That way, I hope that my family will continue to enjoy them and know the reason why each is so special.
This beautiful crystal peace dove ornament really looks like a symbol of peace and love.
Waterford Crystal Peace Dove Ornament - A Very Special Ornament To Signify Hope and Peace
Waterford Crystal is known for it's beauty and the design of this Crystal Peace Dove Ornament is a great example. This is made of fine crystal and will need to be carefully cleaned by hand. If you take this ornament to a reputable jewelry store, you might be able to get it engraved but I am not 100% sure of that. I think would be a great idea, though, and make your gift or personal keepsake even more meaningful.
This beautiful White Peace Dove Ornament would look beautiful on any tree. It also would make a lovely gift for a special friend. Dove Christmas Tree Ornaments make great gifts.

Simple but elegant, this Dove of Peace Christmas Ornament would be beautiful on your tree. My grandson thinks that this would go well with an Angel or a Star because of its significance. I think that is a pretty powerful statement for a young teenager. Of course, I am just a little prejudiced.

A friend shared her white dove ornament photo - It has become a family tradition for her tree
My friend, Karen, shared her story with me and gave me permission to share with you. While I am typing I am listening to the video below "On The Wings Of A Dove" because that was Karen's dad's favorite song and it goes with this story. When her father died, one of the funeral arrangements had this dove perched on it and after the funeral her mother saved it. Every year she would bring out the dove and put it on her Christmas Tree. After her mother passed away, Karen continued the tradition with her family and I imagine that one of her sons will one day (hopefully not anytime soon) place this special dove on their family tree. Karen says that now when she looks at it she thinks about both her parents and about the song that was her dad's favorite.Family keepsakes don't have to be covered in silver or gold to be prized possessions. They just have to hold memories.
"On The Wings of A Snow White Dove" by Ferlin Huskey - Beautiful photography and song
I hope you will take time to listen to the words and enjoy the pictures in this beautiful video of "On The Wings Of A Snow White Dove" by Ferlin Huskey - this is really very special. Ferlin Huskey recorded this upbeat gospel classic in 1960-61 and needless to say, it became a hit. It reached #1 in Country and #12 in Pop according to his biography on his website. Hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I have.
How To Make An Origami Peace Dove
How to Make An Origami Dove of Peace - Instructions via YouTube Video
I have seen people making Origami Doves but I have never made one. After watching this video, I think I could easily master it with practice. This would be a great thing to do with your children or grandchildren and then put them on your tree or use them elsewhere for decorations. These, too, would be lovely on the top of packages.
In reading Modern Masters I learned that after WWII, Picasso was asked to design a Peace symbol for the first ever International Peace Conference which was held in Paris in 1949. His first dove was chosen as the official emblem and then later he simplified it to the one above. His father enjoyed painting doves and so they were already special to Picasso. This Pablo Picasso Peace Dove is one of many that he created.
