~~~ A & E ~~~
Updated on June 4, 2013
~ A & E ~
No surname, nor belly-button, no stone tarmacadam,
In paradise I dwell, “ Hi there!,
“ Madam, I’m Adam!”
I slept for a spell, then awoke, there you were;
Long hair, breasts and curves,
You’re me, now called a ‘ her ‘.
Slick snake, he can’t dig, with his whip-coiled figure;
I see you’ve no tool, let’s use mine as a dibber.
Evicted, now we, by our only true Father;
Now in it, so deep, we’ve caused such a palaver;
For heeding the sounds of a serpentine tone,
Then by adding false words, you made up on your own.
This fruit, that you gave, that then opened our sight;
Has given the heavens, such a terrible fright.
Aware, what is good, though we know about evil,
But the lie that we bought, has brought nought but upheaval.
So now, must you suffer, pain, I, straggled weeds;
No mirth, from new birth, as I’m meeting our needs.
Walking scorched Earth, we must seek our new zone;
A place, to rebuild, then call our very own.
Oh my heart, how it yearns, for my home, it is bleeding;
For yore times of old, back from Hell’s East of Eden.
Let’s come to our senses, as dawn breaks the day,
Whilst we plead with our Maker, “ Please meet us half-way!"
      I had to think really hard what A & E stood for. I am now ashamed of myself. LOL. Thanks a lot snake for your trickery.
      Well kathryn, you're spot on; a digestible summary of our own beginnings,(although of course, there will no doubt be differences of opinion on this), and thanks for dropping in, as it's always a pleasure when you're around, offering such wonderful comments.
      Have yourself a lovely day;
      Yours Sincerely,
      Good morning Mhatter99;
      Many thanks for your kind comment, and maybe I'm a little gullible, but I believe that story, and take it on faith, although I suppose some people take it allegorically, others idealistically, and others historically.
      Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy a marvelous day in 'Cisco.
      Sincerely,
      R.Q.
      Great poem here. I use to get in big discussion on the Adam & Eve story. I take it too humanistic rather than religious.
      It's like a well-written summary of the story, with a little more emotion thrown in. You're so eloquent!
      Lol! The 'A & E ' had a double meaning, suggesting that Adam & Eve, were now an Accident & Emergency.
      I've never seen that show - hardly ever watch T.V., except when I visit people.More of a D.V.D. movie buff, when I get round to watching them, with friends;Action, Rom-Coms, Whodunnit's etc...
      No. I sure haven't and, you're right, the're probably more from where that came from! :D By the way, before I started reading your poem, I thought A&E was actually Arts and Entertainment (I watch the First 48 on that channel). LOL
      Thankfully, Adam & Eve(Accident & Emergency), have a new hope now, for a better Eden.
      Thanks for stopping by, and try not to bully those burly firemen ;)
      That palindrome is as old as the the Garden of Eden!
      Another relatively well-known one that you might not have heard, is ' A man, a Plan, a canal, Panama! ' There are probably lots of others as well. : )
      This is absolutely impressive and sorrowful; it's like the side of the story we never hear and you told it beautifully! Maybe the Good Book would be opened a bit more if some of these were in there. The pictures are perfect! Impressed as always!
      Yours Truly,
      Cat
      All seems a bit iffy now, with those dodgy demons, and mental mind-melders.What would Mr Spock say? Lol! And that Lee character you created is well shady!
      Hey, WL! I'm glad that you liked this one, and the pictures to go with this story of famous beginnings.
      Did you notice that line four " Madam etc...." is also a palindrome? :)
      Have a marvelous evening;
      This was a fantastic poem and awesome retelling (if that was intended) of Adam and Eve. Pictures were awesome, too! Once again, some brilliant work you have penned here! Voted it up awesome and beautiful!
