Well, hello there yourselves!

As you may be aware, the first inter-racial kiss on television ( albeit, an enforced one in the context of the episode ), was initially aired on Nov. 22nd, 1968.

This was screened during a time when segregation between black and white was still rife in the western world, to its shame. I'm not a Trekkie nerd, but remember that a few episodes from this world-wide, award winning original series broached some pretty important social issues during its time, which still seem relevant, even today.Although the character Uhura is Swahili in the series, I've used the Caribbean as the background for this piece.

One thing I’m glad that I did not bequeath from previous generations, is the racism and bigotry associated with inter-racial marriages, and this prose poem is my small contribution as to how that bond transcends negative prejudice and racial barriers, to promote the many colours of poetry in motion. You may not like the piece ( based on personal taste, and not the subject matter ), but nevertheless, I hope that it does not detract from these meanderings, and makes you think about your perceptions of such matters, and how they relate to the street, village, town, city, county, state and country in which you live. This one is not about any particular individual, but written from the perspective of a man, for his wife.

~ Caribbean Queen ~

Marchioness of the Antilles; thine enunciations strike thy incus with chimaeras, and scintillas of pyre, to imperil anonymity of feeling for an ebony Countess.

A yawning sky suspires, to remember thee, the last of a race of Princesses, dressed in the feint habiliments of a spectral moon. As a lunar bracelet pours imperial cream of midnight milk onto my dark goddess, you become a sable mare, prancing in beams of twilight repose.

Twinned orbs, like stained glass windows of lapis-lazuli, metamorphose into raging juggernauts of smouldering want. Thy yarn braids, blacker than a great-tailed grackle, flying through a starless cosmos, as ‘twere, might venture to be teased via manus; pearly as a raven’s skull. The sweeping cyclone of our concupiscence bears the only syzygy ‘tween you and I, as thy integument scintillates, and glistens, homologous to a parachute captain’s dress shoes.

Gourmet lips of succulence and crescent hips, like marquisette to the touch, are curtained by crinoline dress, revealing nought but anticipatory excitement.

Petals and pedicel; kisses and silk. Explorations of hesitation; teasings appeasing, simmering heat; faces, embraces, torso’s in cleat. Rosebuds and lace; whispering lies. Scarlet on velvet; truth and disguise. Rocking and reeling; deliberate feeling. Tide on the brink; perfume and mink. Singing your secrets; drippings on mesh; muffling screams; enamel in flesh….

Drinking deep from our cornucopia, dipped in erotic streams of estuary, the unicorn lends his pride to a rampant lion, who should voyage his lioness through sensitive lands, where eyes roll in uninhibited, ecstatic abandon and primed bodies vibrate their new song, as her virtuoso sjamboks a wild baton to the symphony of writhing womanhood, whilst chess-like torsos morph into one, as the bishop takes his queen, to win his mate.

THE END

      RQ,

For me, the poem dripped with sensuality, and I am not sure I would have even considered the racist element if I had not read your introduction. Another beautiful piece filled with magical imagery.

      With Warmth and Wonder,

      Kim

Being from the Caribbean, your title pulled me over. Pleased with the Princess portrait you painted against the historic background you gave. Excellent!

      I enjoyed this tremendously.

Can't think of racism cause I hate it. People are people. I may be purple for all you know-and I see that wouldn't change your thinking of me.

And that is precisely one of the many reasons why you are liked by so many Kim. That kind of love transcends race and skin colour to unite with its long-lasting beautiful attitude, it seems.

      Have a lovely evening,

      It's Wetnosedogs!

Hope you and your hounds are doing well this evening, and yeah...race has never bothered me in life, whether that be Asian, Black or White; it's attitude of the person which really counts. And I think you're wonderful, warm and funny!

      Best Wishes,

Ah, yes, Caribbean Queen ...simply awesome, for true love is colorblind. I am reminded of some of the words to Billy Ocean's song, "No more love on the run," where she obviously wants to tame her tiger, and passion burns like never before with those electric eyes you can't ignore...and hearts truly do beat as one, as if she is a dream. I am paraphrasing the lyrics to that song here, obviously.

Nice and steamy good one here dear Romeos. Thanks for the flashback too in that first image : )

      Up and more

      Superb as always,

      Faith Reaper

      Hi Faith,

I hope that all is well with you and family. I just checked out that melody; haven't heard that one in quite a while, and the song even shares the same title as the poem - I was originally going to call it ' African Queen ', but that was a film starring Hepburn and Bogart I believe, but shall stick with this title as it seems more relevant and pertinent to the subject.

Happy that the first image brought a flashback for you, and thank you for dropping by, and amply sharing.

      Best Wishes,

Thrice, today DDE? Aren't I the fortunate one? :) Indeed, love is colour-blind, thank God.

As a white guy, I've never seen the sense in racial divisions, except for it suiting the agenda of the evil-minded, who seek to drive wedges and create divisions, with ridiculous, pre-conceived notions of ' master races ', and ' the evolution of man ', as religions trying to pass themself off as science.

The differences of each culture are surely to be cherished, and it is their variety and diversity which make them so beautiful.

      Best Wishes,
