~~~ ( You Are ) Cleopatra's Envy ~~~
Updated on March 03, 2014
~ Cleopatra's Envy ~
“ Through the eye of a storm, valiant heroine was born,
For her life without end was eternally sworn.”
I
Her ageless wishing wells gently declare deliberate emanations of arresting hazel, like toasted lead crystal deliquescing inside dewed caresses of caramel mists which time hath long since forgot. Coalesced in drizzles of butternut fawn, sheathed within declarations of beckoning infinity, they slowly melt their delicious, sun-kissed seaside fudge invitations o’er quiet avalanches of finest Grecian Doric marble, whose unyielding, smoked fruitwood scintillations repercuss with inextinguishable reminders of agape, gracefully reaching forth to take prisoner with their unmatchable delights of loving-kindness.
II
Her dulcet tongue waxes sweeter than an empyrean snowflake melting ‘pon the eyelash of a newborn kitten drying an Angel’s tear with her tiny paw; her ambient song permeates a thirsty soul releasing shackled hearts from bonds of darkest sable. Welkin canticles carry her listeners upon the barely discernible draught of a Cherub’s whisper as its exquisite, enigmatic beauty embraces the edge of forevermore, wherest rainbows are conceived, wrapped in everlasting tints of amaranthine yonder.
THE END
      Hi Jackie;
      Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
      It was about all of those brown-eyed women whose inner beauty never ages, just as their own eyes never age.
      Thank you and have a lovely evening; ( Cleopatra VII's eyes were probably brown, though Taylor's are of a different colour ).
      You never disappoint dear Romeos! Lovely tribute to those brown-eye women.
      Every word written is a treat in and of itself really, but when all put together in only the style you write, then magic happens.
      I hope you are having a lovely day/evening across the big pond.
      That photo of Liz is stunning too and perfect for your superb writing.
      Up and more and sharing.
      Hugs,
      Faith Reaper
      It's good to have you drop by Faith and many thanks for your comments of encouragement.
      Yes, today has been alright; the weather left a lot to be desired but otherwise a typical Sunday. I trust your day offered something new to you and your family today and that annoying alarm is no longer dishing out its audible grief. Thank you.
      Warmest Regards,
      R.Q.
      This is a wonderful tribute to those beautiful tempestuous forces of nature, the actress and the Egyptian queen, unforgettable.
      Loved it!!
      Hiyah, and Good Morning Jo;
      I'm glad you enjoyed the verse. It was an attempt to illustrate that even though these women were renowned for their physical beauty,( though the depictions of the real Cleopatra on ancient coins are hardly flattering ), that the real, everyday woman has an inner beauty which is the envy of her who relies on her fleeting physical demeanour, because it seems that the inner splendour of the average woman far surpasses any outward semblance of such and also lasts much longer, hopefully forever.
      Regarding Jackie's lovely poem; I think Faith Reaper shared it and brought it to attention first so credit to her. It was rather beautiful.
      Thank you for your wonderful uplifting comment and have yourself an amazing day.
      With Kind Regards,
      R.Q.
      Wasn't Elizabeth T stunning? Shame she got so 'puffy' in old age but those eyes were amazing.
      'Sun-kissed seaside fudge' sounds lovely!
      You certainly have a way with words - and I still have to reach for the dictionary (& the imaginary one!)! Ann
      Hi Ann;
      Just posting this late message to say thank you and you're certainly right; she was stunning when she was younger-looks a bit like my 'ol mum when she was her age ( according to the b&w photos ). Eyes never seem to age, and some women's inner beauty never seems to either which is so much more valuable than the purely physical, though some are blessed to rent that as well for a short time.
      Have a peaceful night;
      Best Wishes,
      R.Q.
      Just a tribute to all women really Audrey, whose inner exquisiteness speaks volumes.
      The opening lines in quotation marks were especially for an individual lady who has overcome great adversity in her life.
      Thank you again for stopping by for a while.
      All the Best to you and yours;
      Romeos My dear bro. What a stunning photo. Really awesome. You have written another exquisite masterpiece touching on the embrace of a beautiful woman and her sultry love, beauty and style. She went through so much and did go in dignity. She came away shining in her beauty. What an awesome Cleo Liz acted. Liz so beautiful a woman in her prime. On the other side we will have glorified bodies. We will all be stunning no imperfections in our Spirit body. These ole clay pots get fragile and can fall apart in a moment. Today is the day to enjoy and be a light, Amen.
      I love your work bro and I think you are pretty darn special. You have been a light on my path and so many others with your loving kindness and your unmatchable talent. You are one of my favored poets at this here community. Looks like you have slowed a bit on writing. You taking a sabbatical? JK Even if you do all is well there are so many of your writings I can go visit. Do not stay away too long.
      I finished my zoe writing per your inspiration Mr Romeos Quill. I thank you for it. In writing it I discovered much about my defects of character. Thank God for His mercy and grace which are new each day. Love the title you gave me. It was a keeper. Hugs. I love you brother. Your sister Skye.
      Hi there dear Skye; always a pleasure to have you alight on these 'ol pages beloved sis. Really glad to hear that all's well with you and your retinue of distinction and that your copacetic and engaging writing about the Lord is moving along in a way agreeable with your electric personality and exuberant and infectious encouragement - a real pleasure to hear from you, every time. Thanks, from a special place, for taking time out to leave such heart-warming comments; this is the real treasure.
      M(r)s. Taylor sure had a colourful life of fame and strife for sure and the opening in quotation marks was deliberately ambiguous as it also applies more pertinently to a cherished Hubberess who has also overcome a particularly great health trial in her life through faith and healing through Christ which really moved me, as indeed there are many valiant women ( like you ), and men here at HP who have undergone all kinds of trials yet have come out on top smelling of roses.
      In relation to the poetry and your wonderful remarks, thank you and you are very welcome. No, I havn't taken a sabbatical lol! ( chance would be a fine thing ), but now have quite a backlog of unpublished verses which, since I traded my other 'puter for this current piece of junk, which is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, can only put in the title and summary through various browsers, but when it comes to entering work in the text edit box, it won't have it, so until I can lay my gauntlets on another machine built to take the job on, after paying all of those never-ending bills which seem to come all at once ( you know how it is gal ), I'm kind of going to have to take a back seat for a bit.( Just left one on the bio page a few days' ago - the best I can do at the moment ) Kind of frustrating, as this month I've heard is quite a special month for Poetry, - you're but will certainly enjoy reading some of the great work on here even if I can't leave a comment.
      I love you Skye - you're so genuine and regarding what you mentioned briefly about ' character defects '....what? you're wonderful ( though I understand if you see that in relation to conforming to the full stature of the Lord - quite a challenge of daily faith - you're an Angel compared to me; was a spiritual wreck before I found out the Truth ).
      Al the very best to you and your nearest and dearest Skye, and sending a virtual stroke to baby Zoe ( give her a treat from me :)
      May the forthcoming week be as blessed and as special as the irreplaceable woman it encompasses in sweet fruitfulness of indelible memories.
      Yours, with affection;
      R.Q.
