~~~ D.I.V.O.R.C.E. - Did I Vow Or Radically Con Everyone? ~~~
Updated on June 25, 2013
~ Third Finger, Left Hand ~
The naked white line of your wedding band,
Tells its' rumour of love on your pretty hand.
That circle of trust, which was sealed from above,
Leaves a vacancy clear, on my beautiful dove.
Diamond cut tears, glisten in your eye;
Salted channels, of a love gone by.
Those hurry-home drops, upon your cheek,
Have robbed my eyes, of precious sleep.
My body perspires,
I knock out the light,
As I cry out your name,
In the middle of the night.
I call for you,
But there's no answer;
I'm longing for you,
My special dancer.
I miss your smile, your precious face;
The love you gave, your warm embrace.
Oh Juliet, you're with me, but really you're not;
Your Romeo boils, like a cauldron so hot.
Jealousy is here, that monster of green;
You've lied to me, now, I'm best left unseen.
My anger, so fierce, has turned to fury;
"Tear the sky in two,and bring me the jury!".
But I know that our babies
Will draw us together;
With love bonds, that tether,
Forever and ever.
The End
      Yep. She's conned you. LOL! Seriously, though, I liked your acronym for divorce. That was clever. Can I borrow your quill? I want to stick it in her neck... ;) Voted it up!
      Greased lightning! It's the Flash, again! I'm gonna use my stopwatch to time you WL, because your fleetness of foot on this one has got to be an all-time record lol! : )
      Thankfully, it's only make believe, but I'm sure a lot of folk can relate to this one.
      They say that ' The pen is mightier than the sword ', but I wouldn't want to test that theory out on her divorced neck, but thanks for the vote of confidence.If I'm ever in this unfortunate position, I could do no better than to have the ' Flash ' gracing my corner. :)
      Thanks again WL
      Thanks for dropping by James.
      You're right;there's no reason why the kids should miss out because of one parents' selfishness.Children seem to be very resilient when it comes to the crunch.Much obliged.
      Yours Sincerely,
      It seems today that people will get married at the drop of a hat and say their vows, and then the very next year, they are divorced and then remarry and the cycle goes on. I think if one is not serious about such vows and does not intend to stay married forever, then one should not even consider marriage. Maybe this has always been the case, and it just seems more often nowadays. I remember taking my vows very seriously to this day, and I was married at age 19.
      Now, there are cases where the person changes dramatically and becomes violent, then one has no choice but to leave or get divorced. But I believe one should stay with the person through sickness and in health, unless one's life is in danger.
      True love never quits.
      Your poem is very dramatic and paints a sad reality with emotions expressed so well. It is really sad too when there are young children involved, obviously.
      Voted up +++ and sharing
      Blessings, Faith Reaper
      This is some prolific writing. I look forward to when you can find peace. I wish you comfort in your time of sorrow.
      An amazing purging of feelings that can now be let go
      and heal. Voted Up +++ shared and tweeted.
      Good write. We sign on for life and for the life of me I don't know what happens but soon the two that were one, are adrift. Lost of focus, different goals. The only thing I can say about divorce is that it is painful.
      I couldn't agree more Faith Reaper.Battered wives should get out whilst they can, as I've heard stories from folk at gatherings for such predicaments relaying their horror stories - unfortunately, some of them never made it to the meetings.Domestic violence is taken much more seriously in this country now, than it used to be, because of changed laws.Kids always are the ones to suffer, so like you allude to, one should make their choice of partner very carefully indeed.
      Thanks a million for dropping by, and broaching your intelligent, and experiential comments on a painful topic.
      Have a lovely evening;
      Yours Sincerely,
      Pleased to make your new acquaintance :)
      Thankfully, this issue does not affect me directly, but have seen family members go through this tumultuous upheaval.
      Thank you for your uplifting input, and I look forward to reading some of your work in the future.
      Peace and Goodwill, from merry old England;
      Indeed, Writer Chuck, no man should put asunder what God has joined together, as husband and wife are meant to cleave to one another for life.
      I certainly hope that you haven't had to experience this pain personally.
      Many thanks for your involved remarks;
      Best wishes,
      Marriage used to be sacred so much has changed over the years that vows are not taken seriously and most couples are from one relationship to another, great title.
      Hi DDE!
      Thanks for stopping by today for a read of some of the writing. I agree with you one-hundred percent, and still believe that marriage is holy, and special, and is the surest way of securing the best upbringing for children, and it seems that the Wisdom behind it's creation cannot be refuted or bettered.
      Here's wishing you a wonderful day;
      With Kind Regards,
