~~~ Deceiver ~~~
Updated on April 4, 2015
~ Deception ~
V1/ The glib, the trite, feign regal obscurity,
To saddle you these bluff insecurities.
Hermeneutic hypocrisy,
Duplicity of their sophistry;
Fiendishly clever, misleading reasoning,
Spoils the harvest and truthful seasoning.
V2/ Laying snares to trophy us;
Solicitous as Tantalus.
This useless myth a fine example,
Of things you shouldn't really sample.
V3/ Their effervescent, false indulgence,
Shall cease to thrive in your effulgence;
Evil priests ply doctrinal blunders,
Pontificating, cloudless thunders.
V4/ Bait and switch to suck you in,
For sex and money and spiritual sin.
Sanctimonious, abnormal sadness,
Racing with unbridled madness.
V5/ Cults and sects and lies and schisms;
Churchianity and various ' isms '.
An elegy for the worldly-wise,
Of double-dealing compromise.
V6/ Make haste, lay waste the mentally blind,
They laugh at God and mock mankind.
They'll capture you with false ideas,
And prey upon your loveless fears.
V7/ Abominate your precious daughters;
Inflict upon them rigor mortis,
To prostitute their love they sought us,
Perverting man, new sins they taught us.
V8/ Seducing spirits, demonic vultures,
Steer helms of failing, jaded cultures;
Money-stealing, soul collecting,
Campaign the unwary and unsuspecting.
V9/ Raise your shields, wield ready swords;
Defend, then cut a path through frauds;
Stand your ground and hold the lines,
Await instructions, heavenly signs.
THE END
      Wow, this is certainly the most aggressive and dark I've ever witnessed from you, nonetheless, I cannot deny how beautifully it was done. I can taste the anger and disgust.
      (I haven't gotten an email that this exists yet, or I would've been here right after you pushed publish) :-)
      Yours Truly,
      Hi Cat
      I wrote this one mainly for all those ministers out there in Hub land :)
      Your garden must be looking pretty dapper by now!
      I'll be getting back to 'normal' mode soon-this one is a one-off.
      Yours,
      R.Q.
      R.Q.
      Okay, ministers... phew, I had hoped that's were you were going with this... now I like it even more ;-) Those first few lines had me sweating :-)
      It really is quite a masterpiece... I pinned it, like I do ALL your pieces, 'cept this one had to go in a different category :-)
      Yes, I am content... I think my garden is going to produce nicely this year.
      'Normal mode', ha ha... honestly, it's done exquisitely and I've never quite read any of this type that got as deep as you did, though your "normal" is a bit easier to swallow. :-)
      Yours,
      Cat
      Cat
      Thank you for your support;you really are quite a woman.
      To be honest,as I was typing 'normal',I couldn't help but give a wry grin....what the heck is 'normal'?lol!
      I'll get on the case of the more 'digestable' poetry of which I'm sure you and other kind,and decent Hubbers are used to.
      Have you ever thought about planting a fruit tree in your wonderland?
      Yours Sincerely,
      R.Q.
      Aw, well thank you... I just want you to know that I recognize how wonderful this is, even if it's not the heart-melting kind I'm accustomed to you writing, but then again... it just might melt a minister's heart :-)
      Normal, yeah... I just flirt on that island sometimes, but I don't live there :-)
      This was easy to digest, really it was... I just had to make sure of where your inspiration was coming from before I could truly let loose :-)
      Oh, my goodness, is that not funny? I just said I wanted to plant a pear tree yesterday. New York weather is very picky about what kind of fruits it'll grow.
      I have to run away for a moment; it's suppertime! I hope to see you later, maybe for dessert? ;-)
      Yours Truly...Sincerely,
      I hope you had a lovely evening meal;now it's high time you washed it down with an ocean of love,followed by a slice of R.Q. pie,sprinkled with a peppering of wit and laughter :)
      Truth be told, I had not much of an appetite as there were too many butterflies in my stomach ;-)
      I had just noticed you published a hub... did a little jig, opened the page and rap, rap, rap... a knock at my door. I tried to hide, then my phone rang, there was no escaping... I made not a peep, but my door, it slowly creeked open... and in entered my niece... it was a bittersweet, short visit. I knew I had a new beauty to read and her timing was horrible :-)
      (Hence, what took me so long)
      So, how about that piece of R.Q. pie? I seem to have more of an appetite now ;-) .... and yes, throw in a dash of peppering wit and laughter :D
      ...And have you been eating flutterbys again?They're impossible to digest,and will just keep flapping away,and I'm unsure if medical science has yet to find a cure ;0)
      Hmmmm......How many slices could madam handle,I wonder? ;)
      She was just swinging by to pick something up, that's all. Gee, not that you've got me feelin' bad :-)
      No, actually I haven't been eating the flutterbys... it baffles me how they get there. I already know the cure, but I cannot share it with the general public.
      Well golly gee, I'd be more than happy to at least start with one :-)
      What is this take about leading a sailor to shipwreck? No shipwrecking here, why I'd be apt to thow the oars out of my own little boat and swim a thousand miles to bring you safely to shore; save you, never hurt you. :-)
      R.Q.
      Lol, yes... I must say I'm not disappointed that you're not a Female Body Inspector, but should I ever need mine inspected, I'll trust your novice abilities. :-)
      Oh, okay, logical and corroborated... I gotcha... and my goodness no, you can call me Catherine, you can call me Cat, you can call me anything you please, but don't call me late for dessert :-)
      Actually, I thought it was kind of sweet when I saw that come in addressed that way... I'm just playing with you... but I did look out my den window, just to check if you weren't standing in it ;-)
      I used to have this old lady at church call me Katie all the time. I have been called Catherine, Cathy and Cat but Katie simply is not my name, nor does it really make sense due to the fact that my name is spelled with a C. I was about 10 years old and I used to say "It's Catherine" and she'd say "Okay, Katie" :D
      I absolutely understand where you're coming from with the whole "nom de plume" thing. I've been here a couple more months than you and I started with a cartoon image of a woman screaming and pulling her hair and I did not include Cat in my bio, nor did I sign off that way. However, as time rolled on, people made remarks about liking the idea that they are talking to a real person and not a computer so I added a picture and threw my name up their, at the same time, I was starting to develop a different feeling toward HubPages and my original priorities had shifted some. So yes, I absolutely understand... and someday, I'd like to hear the story behind your given "nom de plume" though I've just always assumed it was an obvious choice :-)
      I don't have any secrets, certainly not from you... if you ask, I shall tell. In fact, with others... I have a tendency to reveal too much and it often leaves me vulnerable to issues, but it is me, I am an open book and I will never learn to be any other way :-)
      Yours Truly,
      Cat
      Thank you for your candour.I wasn't sure if you would find my last comment obtuse or not,in relation to the female secret thing,so rather than risk offence,I removed it.
      Why did she call you Katy?Was she just batsh!t crazy,or something?And I appreciate you being open;it sure cuts through a lot of nonsense.If there was anything personal to ask,I would do so privately,not in a public forum.
      She was the sweetest lady you could imagine, she just was to the point of having very few marbles left... at my age, I wasn't fully aware and I attempted to correct her for months and then I just started answering to Katie :-)
      I would expect nothing different from you, you are very sweet and thoughtful :-)
      Wow, amazing.
      Surprisingly I understood the poem all too well. It's amazing what one can read from someone else.
      Although everyone may have their own picture in mind, it basically speaks volumes.
      Thank you
      Have a blessed night.
      Wow amazing. I clearly see the whole story.
      I don't know the exact meanings of some words lol, however when written so vivid, one pretty much know what these words are getting at.
      Everyone may see different pictures in their minds, but all in all the poem speaks volumes.
      So true, the last verse is my favourite.
      Have a good night.
