~ "THE FROG & THE DOG "~

‘Twas an overcast grey, in the middle of May,

Round a girl, who today, felt snap-happy;

A pink-panting tongue, on a rug comes along,

Spying green, seeking long-lost pappy.

“ I’m moving some rubble, you slime-jumping bubble! “

Barked an eager, excited young Jenny;

“ I caught your eye glimmer, thought, “ Hey, could be dinner! “,

Whilst squatting, to spend a new penny.

“ You’re fresh out of luck, for I ain’t tasty buck,

Nor a small, mobile cabbage, crying ‘ Ribbit! ‘;

I’m a frog, don’t you know, not a toad-croaking hoe,

Maybe Prince, in disguise, you inhibit. “

“ So, tell me what’s wrong,

Whilst you’re barking your song,

Or let me just bound, past your way;

I was leaping about, ‘till you gave me a clout,

Then detained, muddy paws brought delay. “

“ I do not have rabies; the mange or the scabies “,

Fawned Jenny, as she lip-smacked her muzzle;

“ Been waiting for ages, to make green furry babies “,

Frog frowned, her impossible puzzle.

“ What on earth do you mean? “

Whispered smooth-talking green,

“ I’m amphibious, not canine you know;

Jen, you’re feeling too frisky, and this could be risky,

Though we’d sure make Jerry Springer’s best show. “

Happy Saturday!

      Aw, how so sweet and precious is this delightful write! Wetnosedogs will surely love it to pieces. You are so kind and I cannot wait until Wetnose reads this piece. I did love that frog hub of wetnose's too!

      You are a dear. I would love to link this to my "Hug" to Wetnose.

      This is cracking me up, I can see Jenny and froggy having this conversation.

      Oh that dear frog will be glad to have made his escape, but watch out, Jenny will be back. She is not one for giving up. Guess I will have to veer her away from such thoughts. Doesn't she know that Froggy and her (or she) were not meant to be.

      You are a delight.Thanks for the glorious laugh. Outstanding talent, you are. :)

      And Hi, Faith Reaper -hope all is well healthwise for family.

      Hi Wetnose,

      I am so glad you saw this one by Romeos! He is so awesome.

      Thank you for asking, as I stopped by the city in which they live on my way home from work last night, and all were well. Hubby is healing much better, and granddaughter was happy and moving around and even had started kindergarten! At her age, though, she forgets about the injury, and hopped into bed and cried due to bumping it, as it is so fragile right now. I have written a poem and have a photo to publish when I get caught up here due not being on HP last night. Only time will tell as far as her regaining full use of her left arm, but I have faith she will do so.

      Bless you. I hope you and the wetnoses are having a lovely adventure-packed weekend : )

      Sorry, Romeos, for using your hub space to converse here.

      Hugs all around, Faith Reaper

      Hi WL!

      That's really gracious of you to say so, and glad that the tickling stick touched a sensitive spot. Take the weekend, and make it yours, and thank you, as it's all for such a wonderful new acquaintance recently made on here, who has such wonderful humour - some folk are funny, but wetnosedogs just has funny bones, which is rare.

      Best Wishes,

      R.Q.

      Dearest Faith Reaper,

      It's always good news when you drop in and wetnosedogs' froggy Hub was really great, that I couldn't resist cheerfully giving something back after what she had given to us all; and regarding the link? You are more than welcome to include it in your ' Hug To Wetnosedogs ' Hub - Faith....your manners are impeccable, though there's no need to ask - sheesh! I'd give you the moon on a stick if it were mine to give.lol!

      So glad to hear that your husband is on the mend and that your little Angel is making recovery within herself, and physically is slightly moving along - bound to take some time, but with many praying for her full recovery, I believe that those pleas offered shall fall on loving ears, and be answered, and honoured. I remember reading somewhere in the Bible that we are not to just bring small requests before Him - after all, He is a King, and nothing is beyond His Glorious Power.

      And again dear Faith, you can write here any time you like, for as long as you like - your sweet politeness is touching.

      Be well precious heart, thanks for the hugs, which I'll virtually return, in abundance, and I hope you that and your family enjoy a restful weekend , revealing wonders and beauty, in America's 'Beautiful South '.

      With Warmest Regards,

      R.Q.

      To The lady Of The Moment, Dear Wetnosedogs!;

      Stop it! Your comment has me rip-snorting like a Spanish bull here lol!

      You are marvelous, and so glad that it gave you an inordinate amount of rib-tickles. I temporarily ' liberated ' a few of your zany photos, in order to lend a little more spice to the rhyme, and I wanted it to be a surprise, so I hope you don't think I was taking too many liberties, as if I'd asked, might have lessened your enjoyment. Could there be a ' Part Two - the Return ', I wonder? Could the masked frog get his hands on four glass slippers at short notice? Your hounds are just fab, and must give you much pleasure, as I know it is as much of a pleasure at having met you on here through the amazing Faith Reaper.

      Have yourself a fantastic w/end, and please give the dogs a stroke from me.

      All the best,

      R.Q.

      Romeos Quill,

      This was indeed a surprise. And we don't mind you tacked pictures to your hub. Quite intelligent - I wouldn't know how to do that from one hub to the next.

      I think part two is way out in the future. That frog knows to do get out of the nagging (sweet dog, though) Jenny's way. And Roscoe has a thing for shoes and such that belong on the feet, so he'd be sure to be right there to snatch the glass slipper and most likely bury it good to get back at Jenny for whatever reason he's thinking of at the moment.

      We are having a splendid weekend and trust you are too. The wetnoses love the stroke of kindness from England :)

      Romeos Quill,

      I have read this twice and the second time I sang it as a song. Love this!

      Dear Wetnosedogs;

      Lol! ' Roscoe's Revenge ' could be on the cards as well - there's no end to the amount of pages their story could fill!

      Weekend is just fine, thank you, and best wishes from a drizzly, humid England.

      Hi LKMore01 !

      Much obliged to you for whizzing by for a read - and twice! A song? Do you think we could turn it into a Broadway musical? : )

      Thanks a million, and a thoroughly pleasant weekend to you;

      Kindest Regards,

      Voted up, and pressed all of the vote buttons. Way too cute! I love WND, and I remember those photos from her own post once. I love the poem you created. Clever.

      Thanks for sharing this with us, and I hope many others check out Wetnosedogs!

      Have a great day.
