~~~ Girl On Repeat ~~~
Updated on May 29, 2013
~ Girl On Repeat ~
Poetry, prose, work, rap 'n' rhyme;
Occupy my waking time.
Songs, that play upon my mind,
That wake me up, a pen I find
To write a painful lyric, or two,
About a girl, that I once knew.
She takes me back, to a private heaven,
I'm always thinking, twenty-four/seven.
One, four, three, just will not do,
To justify this memory of you.
It's just like you, to raise the tension,
You're part of me, my body extension;
' Could have happened ', and ' Might-have beens ',
Assault, disturb, my blessed dreams.
'Till this day, I still don't know,
Why babe, you couldn't make the show.
Did you find a face, you thought was handsome?
Will it set you free, and buy your mansion?
Could it speak great things, that you don't know,
Teach lessons, that'll make your body blow?
Will you settle for druggies, losers and thugs;
Aimless men, and passionless hugs?
If you cannot seem to find the answers,
From a drunken sage, or confident chancers,
Think, ' Once upon a time ', of playful trust;
Back, to a future, named simply; ' Us.'
      Thanks for stopping by, PHILLYDREAMER.
      I make a point of allowing the petals of a rose to unfold when they're ready to, when the climate is right for them;teaches me patience, and makes it all the more exciting when the relationship feels totally right for both of us, but I hope your philosophy works for you;there seems to be no hard and fast rules when it comes to love - just faithfulness, I reckon.
      I developed a philosophy as I was playing the dating game. That philosophy was, if a woman is incapable off seeing the best of me, then she is not worthy of my time. I freely admit I can be an A-hole a lot of times, but that's only because I am passionate in my beliefs and if I believe in someone I push them to be the best they can be.
      Out hub hopping and landed on this one. You have such a natural talent for creating the perfect rhythm for the perfect verse. Loved the video as well.
      Best Always,
      This has the feel of a song. Anything I say won't relate exactly how I feel when I read your poems. But Cat said it perfectly!
      Beautiful. Loved the longing and the reminiscent feel. There's always that one that you never forget. The ending was perfect too. :)
      WL The rhyme was despondent, as you alluded to, but I tried to offset the balance with a hopeful, positive video(which may be a little old-fashioned for some).
      Thanks, as always sweetheart, for your upbeat, and encouraging remarks.
      Yours Sincerely,
      Awww, this is darling and I love the rhythm and flow. Those two first verses I read with a hyper anxiousness; loved 'em! Yes, the story, it is a sad one and I'm sure many can relate, but alas, you end with a promise of hope 'Think, ' Once upon a time ', of playful trust; Back, to a future, named simply; ' Us.' - Love that part too!
      Beautiful Romeo!
      Yours Truly,
      Cat
