Their Eyes Told The Story
In Their Eyes
If the Elders Truly Speak of some of their concerns, you might be surprise to learn of the pain that many of them keep hidden inside…
The pain of being left alone. The pain of no phone calls or too few phone calls from loved ones...
The pain of surviving without life-long mates and companions...
In their eyes, I have seen heartache and stress weigh them down until they appear as broken vessels.
In their eyes, I have seen dignity, strength, and unyielding convictions.
I have witnessed sadness, anger, disappointment, frustration and defiance.
In their eyes, I have seen the looks of joy from a child’s hug, from family love, from the Respect of others...
Not all of them are strong…
In their eyes I have witness the struggle of raising their children’s children, when their own are grown.
In their eyes, I have seen stories of a time long ago when they were happy and content, didn’t know what loneliness meant.
In their eyes, I have also seen worry creep in and faith step in, to assure them that the Golden Years will be the Best Years...
.There is Wisdom and Stories that Promote Growth inside the Elders.
You Honor them when you take time to listen to their concerns.
You Respect them when their Voices are still allowed to express their opinions.
Fear of isolation keeps many of them mute and wisdom talks take a backseat to modernization.
Many of them are aging gracefully and peacefully.
Retirement is good and they will tell you "God is Good."
Respect for their contributions didn’t go unnoticed...
Take time for the elders… Talk to them, listen to them and Respect them, it shouldn’t take a crisis for them to get attention.
In their eyes, wisdom, experience, trendsetters, roots of the first fruits.
In their eyes, I have seen the Warriors, the Showman, the Teachers and the Dream Reacher's
Respect The Elderly for one day if you are lucky, you will become one of them.
