~~~ Mom ~~~
Updated on June 10, 2013
~ " Mom " ~
Pushers and druggies,
Pimps with buggies;
Clueless dads,
Assorted cads.
Tattooed vixens,
Bouncing babies;
Hopeful, illustrated ladies.
Here, and there,
And going places,
Cuddling angels, with dirty faces.
The dripping rain,
Blurs out their pain,
If only for a little while;
A promise of tomorrow,
Helps forget today,
As they muster a tell-tale smile.
Living in the land,
Of the shadow of death;
Awaiting their Saviour
With baited breath.
Holy women,
Through with sinning;
Water-marked,
And always winning.
Pretty eyes,
They leak more often;
Piercing hearts,
As features soften.
Secret leaders,
Of a generation,
Endowing their kids
With liberation;
Dispelling,
And altering alienation,
Reciting words
That inspire vocation.
Spread your wings,
But not the dregs;
To cheat,
In other wives' marriage beds.
S.T.D. is a sterile chiller;
An unrepentant baby killer.
Doll, keep it clean,
Doll, keep it real,
And babe, you'll reap,
The all-time deal.
      Wow, I think one of your most interesting pieces. A bit of a different tone, and much can be read between the lines! Nice work!
      Hiyah Theater girl.I hope all's well with you.Another little change from the norm, to take a look at the life of an average super- mum, and to illustrate how much sacrifice, and hard work they bestow,and pour into their children!
      Thanks for your wonderful comments, and I see that you have written another masterpiece!
      Yours Sincerely,
      You're welcome Theater girl, and I think that many of the struggling, decent ones out there deserve to be praised, and encouraged a little, because they deserve it.Looking forward to visiting your new work :)
      Beautiful; there were a lot of pieces that really struck a chord.
      As usual, impressed with your unrestricted abilities.
      Ah, but if only they were still munchkins :-(
      Life just has a way of flying by when you're not looking, doesn't it?
      Time waits for no man Cat, as you are more than aware, and it only seems like yesterday, when my nieces and nephews were still knee-high to a grasshopper.Life seems to change lanes.
      I guess it doesn't wait... but we can hold onto some moments and discard others; that I know.
      Oh how it changes lanes.
      Some moments are timeless aren't they, when etched into the heart and mind with the stylus of loving affection? It's the moments that hold on to you, that are the most powerful and beautiful;the ones that whisper silently of forever, when both person, and memory, become permanently inseparable.
      Moments holding on to us rather than us holding on to moments? I guess that's true.
      Whisper silently of forever... only if one can hear it.
      Could the passing moments that do not adhere to us, or in kind, us to them, be the screaming, shouting kind of times that we don't wish to hold onto, as they are commonplace, and simply desired to let slip by, but the quiet, heart-stopping, soul-rending kind of memories that feel like they could shake heaven's foundations, come upon the unwary, with the quiet delicacy of a ladybird's wings, and take a keen ear to discern?
      Beautifully stated by the way. Keen to discern means nothing when the whispers are absent. God bless those with an earful.
      Enjoyed this one, having stroller sized heathens myself. There's not enough poetry about moms, I appreciated it! Most poetry is written about things that one has acquired for free, such as great looks or infatuation... but less is written about things that take time, patience and sleepless nights... like kids. funny how that is.
      Then there would be nothing to discern;one can only hear, that, which is there to begin with.
      Yeah, It's ' healthmom! '(the crowd goes wild :)
      'stroller-sized heathens' lol!I bet it feels like that, when they're keeping you up, but sure that their default behaviour is Saintly....I hope so, for parent's sake : )
      It's always useful approaching real, daily life, in writing, just to give you fab women a li'l pick-me-up now and again, and to let you know that some of us men do honestly sympathize with what you have on your plate, and have to deal with on a day-to-day basis.Angels in disguise.
      Best wishes to you, and your family, and I hope that they will give you a moments peace, so you may enjoy a lovely, relaxing evening.
      Yours Sincerely,
      Romeo's Quill
      Great poem. There is nothing more powerful than a mother's love. Those who try to spoil it be dammed.
      I agree about that kind of love, Writer Chuck;they seem to shape, and dictate the kind of woman we shall eventually settle for , and the good ones make life flow like oil in machinery.
      Thanks for dropping in, and leaving your uplifting comment.
