What does Mom mean to you?

Updated on June 13, 2015

The Happy Gardener.

Kaitlyn LOVED this!
Kaitlyn LOVED this! | Source

This is dedicated to all mothers around the world who have taken care of their family since the family was in their womb, except the hubby, or even before marriage. The mothers devoted themselves to the family from the beginning to the end. Some received respect and appreciation while others did not. This is dedicated to both.

Mom

Even though mom is a small word, it has a lot to share

Mom can be caring, as in a husband and wife

Mom can also have enough love for a family life

Mom also is a doctor when someone is feeling in a bad way

Mom is soft and cuddly when a teddy bear has gone astray

Mom is a 24/7 one-woman cuisine

Mom tries to wash dishes in between

Mom is to whom everyone will complain and fuss

Mom is still compassionate to each of us

Do we all appreciate her love and care?

Usually not, we have to notice her

and to let her know this with five simple words

"I will make dinner, Mom."

Thank you Au fait and I hope that you have a happy Mother's Day. I thought that someone had remove all of those buttons from their Hub earlier when I wanted to share and pin it. I did not know that they happened to everyone. Do not worry about that.

Found the solution to my invisible social buttons on a forum and now I can share your lovely poem. Pinned to Awesome HubPages and shared with followers. :)

Mother's Day is just 6 days away. This poem is perfect, and like some of the others, I thank you since I am a mother. I voted this up and beautiful, but unfortunately there are no social sharing buttons since the last improvements to HubPages that I'm told took place earlier today, and so I can't share this very thoughtful poem as I would like to do. Perhaps if they get it fixed fairly soon I can come back and do the sharing . . .

I agree with that Peachy, but unfortunately there are a few exceptions. They treat their children uncaringly. Thank you for stopping by and I hope that 2015 is treating you well so far. :-)

Yes we definitely loved each other word55. Even though I did not write about it then, I definitely said it enough that is for sure. That is probably why I wrote now, because I cannot tell her face to face anymore.

I'm sure you loved your mom while she was here and that she felt it. That is what counts the most :-).

Unfortunately word55, mine had passed a few years ago and I wrote this after she was gone, but she did mean a lot to me even when she was here I just never wrote about it. (I had not written anything until recently.) I cannot find photos of her presently but she is etched in my mind. :-) My mom probably did appreciate me, after all she lived with me for so long. Thank you for reading this and for your comment.

      Have a nice day.

Hey Examiner-1, this was very creative and thoughtful of you. Sometimes we don't see the hard work of a mom until we grow up, grow up and have children or realize her if she leaves us. I'm very happy that I wrote a poem to my mom before she left in 2003. It was even published with pics of her and me in the newspaper. It's also here in my hubs (A Real Mother). Great hub here. I'm sure mom appreciates you!

I loved your Mother's Day poem. I heartily agree with you...mom's do all of this and more. My very first hub was written as a tribute to my mother, and was written in May near Mother's Day. Unfortunately, about a year after it was published, when HP went through a huge change critiquing hubs, I received notice that this was 'too personal' and 'below standard'.

I was upset, offended and removed it from publication for many months. But, I wanted to have it published, b/c the one about dad had been published. So, I added somethings, changed the title, etc, and requested a review. It finally passed their inspection.

I believe the new title is, 12 Positive Parenting Tips.

Your poem is lovely and I rated it UP/B/A

Moms are actually angels without wings. Sadly, a few of them are devils in disguise - For the life of me I cannot understand how any woman can not be a mother like the one in your poem.

You are truly welcome Ruby. I hope that your family has a sweet and meaningful surprise for you tomorrow. I am very glad that you loved the poem and video.

That story is funny but hooray for the robins! Six birds? They must have had friends who helped them. I am also glad that you saw that, I guess that was Mother Nature's gift to you for tomorrow!

Have a Happy Mother's Day tomorrow!!

I am going to say, " Thank you " because i'm a mother. Your poem is true and sweet. The video is amazingly beautiful. I dearly love flowers and listening to birds sing. I must tell you what i saw this morning, a squirrel tried to climb a tree in my front yard, supposedly to steal the bird's eggs, about six robins swooped down and started pecking the squirrel, he ran away, fast. It was so funny...
