Negative Reviews or Comments

  • · How do you deal with comments, if any?

Online readers have their opinions on what they feel toward others.

On receiving negative comments it can make you feel frustrated and disappointed.

You don't know who is on the other side that is a major problem

If you have negative speech surely you will do the same.

Everyone has a right to say what they want to they either agree or disagree with you.

It is however, interesting to read the opinions and ideas of others.

I look forward daily to reading my comments. Negative or positive I am fine with criticism.

It makes me confident to know of the many readers who stop by at my hubs.

If I receive a negative comment I reply with a simple, ''thank you,'' and continue to read other comments.

The negative comment gives one more to think of in a good way, and in a not so good way.

    · What is writing all about?

You write and share your stories or informative hubs.

Comments are read of your final thoughts. Writing is for sharing your thoughts, and feelings to one another.

To let go of what you have been through. It could be of a battle, or some traumatic experience.

Dealing with the negative comments can bring you down if you let that be.

It does not mean you are at fault. Your own work produced to perfection and with a different perspective. Others have their say.

I know how to take in the good or bad comments.

There are all sorts of people out there and to keep at writing daily as my challenge.

The more of the challenges do come your way when you receive negative comments.

Negative emails can be reviewed, or deleted; it depends on how you choose to cope with these issues.

If you delete the bad comment forget about that email.

Don't let it hurt you in any way.

When you think about that email, you should first think of the type of person who sent that email to you.

    · Do you think that person is worth your time?

Writing is a stress-reliever and keeps the mind busy with many ideas or suggestions.

You are always learning when reading and writing.

    Words come easily to you.

It takes courage to share your great mind out to strangers or friends.

You are always thinking of what to write and curious to find a new topic.

Your inquisitive mind is often racing with all kinds of thoughts.

A project that keeps you going from day to day helps keep your mind full.

You can earn from writing or use writing as an opportunity to relax at heart.

Open your mind to a meaningful way of life.

Writers can make a difference to many readers in search of new information.

Your way may feel the best way but not the same for everyone.

Negative comments can affect you more than you will ever know.

This is if you let it get it to your head.

Sometimes negative comments about your web page can discourage readers in stopping by to read your articles.

There is no perfection in such comments.

The voice spoken can make you feel less responsive.

If you don't know what good to say then don't react toward that negative comment.

Did you know that negative comments about your writing can be posted on many social sites?

That can ruin your reputation immediately.

Be alert when you receive such comments.

Acknowledge the reason for what they had approached you.

Bad reviews on your book can bring you down.

Pay attention to what triggered their harsh words and don't let those words get to your head.

Understand their point of view and also see their comments from your side and their side.

Lashing out is not going to solve anything.

There is far too much of competition in the writing field.

You can't control everything you are involved in it takes time to be known or popular for your writing.

You will sometimes see the right in a negative comment.

If you are at fault don't be afraid to admit it.

Some people are just bored and choose to comment a whole lot of nonsense.

Ignore what you can't fight on.

You want to brand yourself and somewhere along the line you will come across a troubled individual.

Bad comments are for both genders and from both genders.

The unpleasant words are mostly felt and not so easily forgotten.

You could get threats or racial comments at your website. This can be for no reason or for some reasons.

Different topics are dealt with differently by each individual. The misunderstanding of your writing can make others feel the need to write offensive comments.

Argumentative topics are often the problem for such people.

If you allow spammers you won't often get the best feedback to your personal site.

    · Do you read negative comments?

Negative comments can be on written information or on an advertisement of your business.

    · Do you think not reacting toward the negative comment will actually help you?

Verbal abuse is used on you.

If you control your site ban them from your site.

If you are writing on a site and receive negative comments you can report the matter to the moderator of that site.

It can be an uncomfortable situation if the behavior does not stop.

The moment you contact the commenter the messages tend to go on and on.

    Messages can get nasty!

Be responsible for your own site and get rid of these people.

I don't mind the negative comment eventually they do get banned from those sites.

That to me is just fine. My time is valuable than to waste it on such individuals.

People can be aggressive and show their true characters when you least expect it. When angry they can say whatever comes to mind.

Have a policy in place at your personal site to adhere to so that you can moderate comments received.

Never show fear when reading negative comments these schemes are not permanent but can go on from a day to day basis.

Whether you ignore the comments, or try to resolve the problem it is not going to just disappear.

Unless you have your policies for your personal site then would you be able get rid of such comments.

The Internet is very helpful, but you don't know who is on the other side.

Communication is not helpful in many situations.

When people don't like a certain company there is a chance of reading negative reviews about that company.

Criticism is never taken in positively.

You can contact the review site and work out the positive thoughts, See how you can make some sense of it all. Become familiar with ideas and suggestions.

Bad reviews of a company or any online work can be very stressful.

You need a good online reputation and always remember to never fear your bad commenter.

Article writing can receive negative comments, and companies, big or small. When calm you can resolve the many issues with proper understanding.

Anybody can receive a negative comment. Find out the reasons for receiving that kind of message.

All comments won't be the positive. There must be a bit of both and don't let that discourage you from working online in any way chosen.

If you don't know what you are writing about that can also trigger bad comments.

Write and share what you know best.

Wise words! We should never let negative comments get us down. There are those who will appreciate our efforts and they will be more numerous and those who cannot find good things to say. However, we should never discount the facts just because the person presenting them to us has a poor attitude. Negative comments help us to keep our feet on the ground and remind us that there is room for improvement no matter how much we have achieved in the past.

Although no one likes a negative comment, it sometimes can be used as a teaching tool to better improve your work. I don't feel anyone should take a comment to heart. Now of course if the person is hurtful in their comment, I would say ignore it and get on with your life, work and writing. Some people are just plain negative and that is their problem; not ours.

Love this hub about negative comments, etc and how to deal with them, I feel that positive is the only way to live my life, I lived to long with negative things around me and once I learned to think positive, well let's say to me that's the only way to live, Yes negative can cause the spirit to fall for a second but we don't have to let it enter into our beings, we can stop it at the front door, and some negative comments can be of help if we look at it from the comments perspective. Anyway this is a great hub and very good information. Thanks so much for sharing. Voted up/+ Have a great day. lyns 73141212p

Good afternoon IndependentMind, so kind of you to share such a thoughtful comment. I fully understand your point of view here. ''It does seem, however, that those who give negative feedback sometimes have the loudest voices.'' So true about it. Thank you very much.

Great topic and many interesting comments. I enjoyed reading your hub and all the comments as well.

It does not matter what subject we write about we can never please everyone all the time. It does seem, however, that those who give negative feedback sometimes have the loudest voices.

I am always thankful for positive feedback, and usually learn something from the negative. I also would never censure comments, or refuse to leave negative comments on my articles so readers can see the negative remarks, how i answer them, and how others react to them.

      Nice Hub,

As you said every ones allowed there own opinion, So we end up with nice comments and bad.

I think bad/rude comments comments, come from sad, un-positive people that write bad comments to make them selves feel better about them selves.

Ok we might write something thats not right in there eyes, then so be it they write a comment.

Dont be like them sad and un-positive, I always try and find a positive in every thing,

So the positive in there bad comment is!! it would of made them feel happy for a while. But they will soon go back to being sad, and normally Ugly with no friends

HubPages is a good community and always encourage writers and especially the new folk. We seldom find here bad comments. I personally had a few such comment which really hurt me. But people like you and some other fine hubbers boosted my comments with their encouraging or rather inspirational comments. In facts the negative comments of some hubbers fueled the energy level of the writer in me and put in a fine place I stand now. I am sure we should consider both negative and positive comments alike. At times, what does the best job is the negative comments as it may alert us on certain points. You have taken a good topic and narrated so beautifully. Thank you for sharing.

There are two types of negative comments, one type that is just pure trash that is meant to be hurtful, and these should not be responded to. The second type is when people simply disagree with our opinions. Sometimes these make us mad, but usually if we walk away from the computer a couple of hours we can think of an appropriate, rational counter argument and phrase it in a way so that everyone is still friends. Great hub!

I Know your article relates to all kinds of writing on line and it can be disheartening if you let it. However, here on Hubpages the 'family' are generally encouraging and helpful and 'negative' comments are few and far between and I see them as helpful criticism rather than hurtful or disheartening. A writer of your excellence has no need to worry about negative comments your work ethic is to be admired.

You're not in charge of people's happiness. Some people are overly sensitive, carry emotional baggage, are mean-spirited, have a chip on their shoulder or have good intent but come across all wrong. I hope you don't get too many and don't let them bother you.

    • alexadry profile image

You'll occasionally stumble on negative comments. One must consider why the other person posts them and if there's some sort of underlying agenda. At times, the people just genuinely have a different perspective, others, they just want to make themselves look better while putting you down. Sometimes, you stumble though on helpful negative comments that draw your attention on grammar errors or mistakes on factual information. Personally, I avoid posting negative feedback and would rather bite my tongue unless I deem it is really necessary-- ie for safety/welfare issues.

Negative comments are just people's opinions and to each their own. Some will like what you have to say, and others won't. There's no way to make everyone happy. It's impossible.

Good hub Devika, something everyone can relate to as we have all come across negative comments at some stage. I think I have honestly only ever had one negative comment on Hub Pages however. The person said a quote I included couldn't have been said by the person I attributed it to. Well I looked into it and proved that I was right and he was wrong, after that he backed down and deleted his post. It is easy to be offended or offend by the tone your writing is taken as on the Internet because you can't see the other person or read their body language so you need to take care. I find comments pointing out a spelling or grammatical error helpful though and nt negative so welcome those. Anyway I hope you don't get too many negative comments.
