~~~ New Song For Old Wrongs ~~~
Updated on June 6, 2013
~New Song,For Old Wrongs~
VERSE
ONE/
This poverty, of sweet affection, felt,
Her love wears rags, her lust, a pelt;
Rejecting aces, she's been dealt,
Too hot to handle, this fiery Celt.
VERSE
TWO/
When you withdraw, it makes her weak,
She craves desire, to feel unique.
Your heart returns, she feels the pain,
You take it back, to give, again.
BRIDGE
CHORUS/
Her clear jade lanterns, burning bright,
Jewelled phantoms, perched, round discs of night.
That face, is all that you can see;
She's nothing, but everything, to me,
Warm beach, to an everlasting sea,
Of love, though could it ever be?
VERSE
THREE/
An empty heart speaks nought;
And words cannot be bought.
Mixed feelings, won't report;
Just her, lost in this golden thought.
VERSE
FOUR/
Part of me, needs all of her, and
All of her, wants part of me;
I'll miss the only woman, I love,
I'll never forget my Yankee dove.
REPEAT CHORUS.........to fade....................
      This is beautiful Romeo, but I expect nothing less from you. It yanked at the heart strings quite a bit. I must be sleep deprived; as soon as the song started playing, I had all I could do not to cry?!?
      Lovely!
      Yours Truly,
      Cat
      Hi there WL!
      I like it when you pop up like a genie lol!
      So pleased that you liked it, and thanks a mill, for stopping by.
      Yours Sincerely,
      Hey, Cat!
      Apologies for not responding straight away, but I only just found yours, and WL's wonderful remarks here. : )
      I'm sleep deprived too; haven't slept for like forty hours or something, so you have my earnest sympathies...... get to bed! : )
      Thank you so much for your heartfelt response;don't get me started ...
      Yours Truly,
      No apologies necessary; I just had to step away for dinner myself... though my appetite is not overly healthy at the moment... must've been your work.
      Yours Truly,
      Enjoyed your poetry as always. Love that music, haven't heard that song in awhile. 50's music always makes me wish for a simpler time of poodle skirts and sock hops... of course, it probably wasn't always as golden as the movies make it appear.
      Hi healthmom!
      Thanks for dropping by. : ) Timeless music, tried and tested over the years; the ladies so demure, and intriguing, with some marvelous flicks from the silver, and technicoloured screen just seem to go hand in hand - golden days I reckon for the most part, but I think you're right that these times can also be inflated, and over-exaggerated , although hearkening to the vibe of that era just fills me with a passionate, heady mix of warm feelings.
      Thanks a million for your kind remarks, and I wish you a lovely evening in Ohio.
      Yours Sincerely,
      R.Q.
      Those are lovely words, so may I ask why there is not a video of them being sung instead?
      Hi there shanmarie!
      You may indeed ask....
      I've published this home-made edit to match the generic theme of the song, but my female vocalist, as I mentioned to a visitor on a previous Hub is now pregnant, and cannot do it, unfortunately, so will most likely be looking for another female vocalist, in order to record this track, and hopefully compliment it with a suitable video.
      Can you sing? : )
      Thank you so much for your kind, and encouraging comment.
      Uh, no. I like writing lyrics. I even enjoy singing, but I'm no professional -far from it!
      Pardon me for keeping you hanging there a little, shanmarie;I was attending to an E-mail.
      You must be quite imaginative, and inventive in order to write your own lyrics - I'm impressed : ) Why don't you try recording a little karaoke, or similar set up, play back, and see how you sound? I'm not a brilliant singer, but I noticed that with those who sing as a main hobby, or do it for a living, tend to improve,exponentially, as their confidence increases.Who knows?You might even surprise yourself.
      R.Q. : )
      Oh, you're sweet, but I can't stand to hear myself sing, even as much as I enjoy it. I generally just sing along to the radio or my own song if I have to - but only for purposes of someone else needing the melody or something.
      No need to apologize for keeping me waiting here. There's no expected time period for a reply. . .well, I might be surprised if you answered months later, though ...haha. But, seriously, no rush.
      Maybe if you put your ear-plugs in, sang in front of someone you can trust - you know....one of those friends who will just tell you like it is, even though you occasionally don't want to hear it, and ask them to give you the bare bones of their honest approval, and then you would most likely know for certain if it's for you or not, and if it wasn't, could concentrate more of your creative energies, and channel them to your strengths, and you would probably save a lot of wasted time, as well.Just a thought, because I don't know how important this part of your life is, as it's not really my business.I do like reading your Hubs, though.And thanks for the pointer;I'll see you in a month or so lol!!
      LOL! A funny side, you have. I've had people tell me I can sing and I always say thank you, of course. However, I also am aware that I am pitchy, especially acapella, and can't harmonize because I do what the other person is doing instead, can't help it. haha To me, writing and selling songs for someone else to sing would be fantastic in and of itself.
      Aw :( ...... but that writing , and selling songs though, sure does sound like a good idea, if you reckon you have enough fuel in the tank, so to speak, to produce them in such a prolific amount, as to fulfil a handsome body of your work;and then...who knows? Count the Franklin's, as you're taking your holiday.
      ....I had to laugh at the first line of your comment....sounded a bit like Yoda to me lol!! You must have been infected by Cat's Hub (,") I reckon the force is strong with you though. : )
      Which one of Cat's hub is supposed to have infected me? I'm just me, but she's a lot like me.
      As for the Franklin's, that would be a dream indeed! Really, though, it's just the idea. The idea of being able to move somebody's emotions through lyrics and music. Besides, fame and fortune doth not happiness create.
      It just reminded me of that picture of Yoda on the 'Fear' Hub that she so lovingly crafted.She is quite unique, but you're right that you seem to share some of the same lovely qualities in common. : )And you certainly won't get any argument from me in regards to writing, for the love of doing so;to help, and move folk through the powerful medium of the written word, whether that be lyrical, poetic or otherwise, is its own reward.
      You're certainly not wrong in relation to that last sentence, but it's good for paying those never-ending bills!
      R.Q.
    • shanmarie profile image
      Haha...so she did have a Yoda pic. I forgot. But it was intentionally Yodaish, as joking and semi-joking is fun. Everyone is unique in their own way, and that's a beautiful thing! And...never-ending bills. . .sigh.. . yep.
      Yeah, I picked up on that shanmarie, because you're quite dynamic.You're right - uniqueness is a beautiful thing.
      Well, my dear, it's been a real pleasure talking to you a little this eve, but sadly, must reluctantly depart from your wonderful presence, as I wrestle the sandman, so I can be up to pay those bills you remarked upon.
      I've really enjoyed this little banter, and I wish you a lovely evening, and may your breaking day upon morn's wings bring you everything that was promised amidst your soothing rush of ecstatic dream time.
      You are such a fab woman;don't go changing. : )
      Yours Sincerely,
