Poetry ............In all loves glory

Updated on October 05, 2015

In furtive mishandling we managed to fall in love
kicking the leaves of October as we walked
to poor to do anything else we managed
simply to hold hands as we talked

We groped in inexperience at each others
clothing and emotions equally as we pleased
ahh to be sixteen and hold the world
in the palm of our hands with such ease

Yet the seventeen year old mind grows
bored in solemn reflections
but for the lessons we gained
the rejections

I saw you the other day and you saw
me the same In repose
but at sixty we see with different eye's
and that's good I suppose

Love's glorious no matter when it comes--in the teen years or later. Beautiful!

Thank you for the walk down memory lane Ed. Yes, things are viewed differently as time goes on but we must still hold on to the child inside of us and keep reaching for our dreams. It is these things that keep us ever young.

Aha, time changes the way we see and feel but still there's something to remember. I can relate to this time of reflection....

Dare I say her name -- Mimi. A girl I have never stopped loving. I wonder if it could possibly be different if we were to meet on the street. I must confess that I hope it would not.

Age and wisdom going together, perhaps? This whole thing passes by so quickly. Great poem.
