Racial Respect .......Poem

Updated on December 7, 2014

How simply saddening
how wrong
how childish
It's so simple in retrospect
this whole issue of
what do we do ?

How do we do what's
simply right ?
Stop looking and seeing nothing
and look beyond just black
and white

What a marvelous poem with profound meaning in only a few words. Such a simple concept could overcome centuries of racism if only put to use. We should try to get to know people as individuals, not based on their ethnicity or the color of their skin, but simply as humans.

I love Morgan Freeman's statement. After all, he is simply a man (and a very talented one, at that). Adding an adjective denoting his race or skin color is not necessary. And that's true for everyone.
