~ Say It Again... ~

HEADS

Reverse in verse,

‘Morrows sunburst in surrendered eyes,

Whose love my affection roused

In song birds entwined hearts.

Those years; ten times better

Of forlorn memories,

Now sweet kisses in fractured dreams.

Tumult flowed tears

As thou remembered that hope

Was always there,

Though you rejected love.

TAILS

Love rejected you,

Though there was always hope

That remembered thou

As tears flowed tumult;

Dreams fractured in kisses sweet,

Now memories forlorn, of better times.

Ten years, those hearts entwined

Birds song in roused affection, my love,

Whose eyes surrendered

In sunburst ‘morrows’

Verse in reverse.

THE END

      Aw, so simple and sweet and love that ending for sure! Interesting imagery too. I love your verse in reverse!

      Sometimes less is truly more and this is one of those instances.

      You truly work magic with words ... of course ... you are a true poet!

      Up and more and sharing

      Have a lovely evening dear heart,

      Faith Reaper

      Thank you Faith. I'm not sure if many people ' got ' this one. Did you spot the ' twist '? If not, try reading each verse backwards.

      Anyway, thanks again for such kind compliments and always useful commentary.

      With Warmest Regards,

      R.Q.

      Oh, okay, I thought I did, but I will do as you say! How interesting!

      OH, How did you do that? My goodness, now that is clever and wonderful : ) I think this is the first poem ever I have read written in such a manner. You are a brilliant one, no doubt about!

      There is no brilliant button to push, so I will just comment that it is so.

      Have a lovely evening brilliant one,

      Just wanted to use the occasion to thank a young person who gave the inspiration for this one Faith. Thank you so much, and hope that it bumps up the account for those who need it.

      Best Wishes,

      A great initiative R.Q. I have been trying to play around with words lately myself, but not reverse verse. I love the idea, it's not that easy to do. Well done, voted up.

      It took me a little while, but I see the verse in reverse--first line of one matching last line of the other. You put a Harlem Globe Trotters spin on your poetry. Very creative, and the substance is still there.

      Hi Jodah;

      Yes; I thought that it would be a cool thing to try and it's the first one attempted. It would probably be easier to write in retrospect, if the lines rhymed as opposed to writing in a prose fashion. It was a challenge to do, but I suppose it's good to keep pushing the creative envelope.

      I hope you're well and thanks a million for dropping by for a read.

      All the Best,

      R.Q.

      Hey MsDora;

      Always a pleasure to have you sail by and indeed, you're right, but if you want to get more out of it, one can start at the very last word on the bottom right, and read from right-to-left, then move to the line above it whilst repeating the procedure, and you'll find that there are two poems in one.

      Have a marvellous day and thank you for your kind remarks.

      Best Wishes,

      R.Q.

      How did you do that? Your creativity is off the charts! Wonderful write, as always, Romeo! Are you an ancestor of Einstein? What genius I see in your words. What a wonderful gift you possess, and it is terrific you are not letting it lie dormant and that you are sharing your words with others like you, who love to write. Voted up, beautiful and awesome. God bless, Sparklea :)

      Hi Sparklea; Was that:-

      " The smile which launched a thousand ships,

      Thoust glowing name upon their lips?

      Sheened henna mane, cascading sleep,

      In nautical raptures of the deep?

      Thence tacked and compassed sailor's dreams,

      Of Yankee Dolls and Southern Queens?

      Who sailed swift course of maritime,

      Forever lost within thy eyne? "

      If not, then I refuse to believe it :)

      Thank you for such generosity so offer this by small way of gratitude; you're too kind and offer all credit to God who makes all things possible.

      A pleasure to have you drop by and hope that you and your two and four-legged family are doing well this day.

      Enjoy a fabulous day;

      With Kind Regards,

      R.Q.

      RQ: You are unbelievable! THANK YOU FROM MY HEART!

      I have never seen such beautiful creativity.

      Absolutely awesome! I am full of gratitude.

      Yes, all credit for any talent goes to God, I fully agree. Two and four legged family doing great...we took our mischievous cat Martha to the vet yesterday and it was a blood bath, but she forgave us for the check-up.

      You have a fabulous day too! Blessings always, Sparklea :)

      Neat! So well crafted and cleverly reversed. The 'heads and tails' idea is brilliant. I never cease to be amazed how many different ideas people come up with in poetry, so many ways to express just one idea, especially here on hubpages.

      Excellent! Up ++ Ann

      Ingenious - ingenious to come up with the idea, and then ingenious to make it work. Well done, my friend!

      Hi Ann;

      I trust you are doing well, and thanks a million for dropping by with your always, amazing encouragement, and sure hope you've given those storms the heave-ho down your way.

      The sun is out and it's a pleasant Spring-like afternoon here in Lincolnshire; hoping the same for you also in the lovely South-West.

      With Warm Regards,

      Yes, it's gorgeous here; Spring has finally arrived and it's warm!!

      The storms have gone but the floods are still all over the Levels, sadly.

      Anyway, keep producing your great poetry.

      Kind regards, Ann

      Romeos Quill, Well me, oh my, oh wow dear and precious brother. I have so missed your magical writing. Reading this in reverse is like unlocking a key to a door. Absolutely stunning! Your talent is rare bro. May God continue to bless you and may His favor cover you in all of your comings and goings. Simply I really enjoyed this fine work of art. I tend to lean to type a personality. Often times I do read in reverse. Than I will go back and go forward. You are a crafty and talented gentleman R. Q.

      My husband and I went out of state for ten days. We went to see his sick momma and my older sister and her hubby. It was a journey indeed. Filled with memories and I was ever so reminded of our mortality. Time goes so very quickly. We do not know what tomorrow may brings. We need to be on watch. There is certainty many changes are evolving in our world. Daah that is how it has always been Nothing new under the sun but the time flies by ever so quickly. I have been a little writing sista for several days now. It has been so good. I think time away suited me fine. I am working on a tramp story. It is near done. I mentioned you in it. You were my inspiration. Zoey is close to one year old this week. I am grateful I got her. She is adorable and brings laughter to many hearts.

      Romeos I do hope this comment finds you and yours well and in good spirit. My dear friend keep em coming. I love the pictures in your poetry. Really fascinating how you tie everything up so nicely. You are very creative indeed. Love to you dear bro. Sailing hugs across the oceans blue. Love yam your sista in Christ. Skye
