~~~ The Echo Of You ~~~
Updated on February 11, 2016
~ The Echo Of You ~
Resurging replay from a distant bygone;
The silent witness of a time you once cared.
Extolled virtues, that once drifted lovingly to your chambers,
Now slaughtered on the altar of propriety,
Then hastily exchanged for thunder and lightning,
That bellow, and strike my exasperated mind,
Since you turned away.
Plunged dagger, twisted in me.
Fetid wound, which refuses to close,
Without your attention;
The echo of you, still haunts.
A phantasm of constant hurt;
The spectre of cowardly betrayal,
Now the only memory of your brand of love.
An undeserved revenge, lies at my threshold.
I shouldn't bear this, as it does not belong with me.
A golden stiletto, sent my way,
To execute its' foul deed;
What is my crime? Is it loving you?
Tell me, what manner of madness is this?
Why should I be saddled with a mindless infliction?
I cannot be your scarecrow;
' Twas not in the gods' mind
That I be made that way.
I refuse to be mocked, and henceforth,
Shall I break that cursed blade into two,
And return to sender, but with a blessing;
A now rendered, ineffective,
Unsuccessful, instrument of ending,
Now nestled in my jewel-encrusted box,
Issued, post haste.
Lack of understanding,
Makes you an architect
Of your own destruction;
I will be sad when it turns to you,
And your hopeful expectations
Burst at the seams,
Thence, reverting you back into a zombie.
I refuse to be pacified
Until it comes to pass;
So, renovate your mind,
And come back to your senses,
Lest you continue to live amongst the dead,
Without peace of mind,
As the Immortal watches your day.
Then...........
If you should feel as black as coal,
Just lay your head, and bare your soul.
I know you live, when feeling pain,
You will survive to love again.
I'll kiss your head,
Then smooth your hair;
And hug you, like a grizzly bear.
These lines I write,
Though never knowing;
If your affection be ever-growing.
Healing tones will reach your ears,
Then gently drink away your tears.
Angry words, sent forth,
Shall pierce no more.
I will love you, again.
My promise,
To the echo of you..... echo of you.... of you.... you...
THE END
      The double edged sword of love and hate.
      There is a rollercoaster of emotions hurtling through your lines here and the momentum creates a sense that it is out of control.
      Your portrayed the highs and lows very well.
      Joanne.
      It is a real,and rare privilege indeed, to be able to inspire others,and I've noticed many of my lines in other people's work,which detracts nothing from my poetry,and spreads literary wealth,which I see no harm in,and can only,in my mind,build up,never to tear down.Thank you so much.
      May the weekend hold all that you wish it to;
      Yours Sincerely,
      Romeo's Quill
      Wow, wow and wow!
      I have to admit... I was a bit caught of guard by the picture when I first opened the page; considering the name I thought it would be another Romeo Romance... but the words that follow the picture were loud and clear!!! All I can say is this is very powerful and I can most definitely feel the anger... one should wonder where you draw you inspiration from on pieces like these? Very convincing... I'm wincing
      Yours truly,
      Cat
