The Lost Art Of Thank You

Updated on July 16, 2015

What Does It Take ?

Two simple words

You have to mean it

Then you have to say it

A simple way to show appreciation

To someone who is helpful to you in one way or another

Every day I see wonderful acts of kindness

Two incredible words cover them all

By saying these two wonderful words you feel great

The person receiving the words also feels special

As they should

They went out their way to show compassion

A simple act of love

The reason I love it so much

It can be for anyone

A friend, neighbor.relative or a complete stranger

If the world was reminded daily

In the newspaper and on t.v.

To do two things

The first is to find new ways to help other people

The second way is to say thank you to those who help you

I have seen an insincere sarcastic thank you

That burns me up

It is from people who have little respect for themselves

So they spread their same poor attitude to others

They don't really mean it

They are fake and are only pretending

They are just words with no thought

Somewhere in their life they found a way

To be rude by being polite

So when your new day begins

Carefully look at the people in your life

Don't take for granted those who make each day

A little more enjoyable and pleasant

You can also do what you have done in the past

Repeat

Ways to help people

It may be as easy as holding the door for someone

Letting someone go first at the grocery store

When they have three items and you have twenty

Stopping to let a person cut in on the highway

When the traffic is moving slow

You know they have been waiting patiently

Going out of your way

To find it in your heart

To care

You can do this at work

To bosses and coworkers

Don't forget those people who help you

Not because they have to

Because they want to

Mom and dad

Yes your brother or sister

Anyone who appreciates others

Deserves to be appreciated

When you see someone struggling with a problem

Come to their aid

Not waiting for someone to ask

I think it is one of the ways it makes us

A better human being

More civilized

Growing up

I was told

It is common couritisy

Taking seconds out of your day

To make life a little bit easier for someone else

There are so many ways

I have just touched upon a few

I plan on returning

With your help

Making this hub

My most interesting and fun

Thank You

Peggy W I was taught as a young child good manners and respect for others. To this day both have become part of my life. It doesn't take much but it goes along way. Thank you for reading and sharing.

Those two little words if spoken or even written sincerely carry a lot of weight. We can all find little ways to help one another and brighten the days of people around us. You have given some good examples. Some of it is just being polite to one another and putting others first. The world would be so much better a place if everyone had those same ideas and carried them out.

MsDora There are people every day that help others because it feels right not for fame or recognition. They can be appreciated and hopefully these thoughts and ideas will spread like wild fire. Thank you for reading and sharing. Enjoy your night.
